  1. engine cross member blocks, and strut tops are 4" radius rod blocks are 3" I think. maybe 3.5" steering extension is a longer you will still need to trim (or gently fold back ) the rear of the front wheel wells....
  2. is this what you saw? http://www.nicksgarage.com/cars/rampage/rampage84_01.jpg
  3. the white one I saw is a full time 4wd with slushbox....
  4. I've maybe only seen 1 or 2 of these in Des Moines, over the past 6 years, and there's 2 in my parking lot now!!! a white one and a maroon one.....
  5. cool! let me know if there's any Brat specific parts you can't find out there....
  6. and you'd have to use the turbo legacy axles, as they had cups on the inner ends. all others I believe had the stub as part of the axle, and it went in with C-Clips
  7. shouldn't have to remove the steering link for the axle... to remove the inner control arm bolt, I've always just take the nut off, and used a punch to punch the bolt back out towards the front. (ea81/ea82)
  8. not in the case of wagon wheels. the ea82 wagon wheels have .5" more backspacing, pushing the tires in closer.....
  9. waste of time and money, when you can get a wide aftermarket 6 lug wheel and drill it, or do the 6-lug mod on your hubs.... you can run 225 width tires on the 14" steel pugs without any problems too... and with increased width (and traction) you have a greater rolling resistance.
  10. and here's my pics finally.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/mw3/mw3pics.html
  11. there are a bunch of pics on this site.... click the home page link in the gray bar above, then on the side of the home page under navigation links, there is a Subarus of the 80's link. click it. on that page, there is a Pics from ProjectRudy link. lot's of pics in there, including EA81 RX... or just click here... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/projectrudy/rudy.html
  12. aweswome pics! we ended up with 14 soobs total. 1 guy showed up at about 3:50 PM saturday in a nice OBW, and we had another Brat at the campsite Sunday morning.... I'll post pics later tonight..... I made the 13 mile trip home without issue
  13. I've done a few of these as well, and the braking is much better in my opinion. the soob has a dual diagonal system. Jerry (bratsrus) did a lot of research on the rear disk swap, and the actuating pressure for the discs is the same as used by the drums, so no need for a proportioning valve...
  14. I did that conversion once, and it worked for a while..... did you create a vacuum in the system first? (I didn't which led to it's early demise I believe) I put on a different compressor, so the system was empty. I used a kit from a parts store, but only one of the fittings was covered by the adapters in it, but luckily, it was the only one needed... I just hooked onto the low side, and with the vehicle running/AC turned on to do the compressing, I opened up the vavle on the r134 charge/oil, and it sucked it in.... if yours isn't pulling in, you may have a bad hose someplace, and not creating enough vac pull....
  15. we can have fires at least we had 13 soobs last year... so the scale is a lot smaller
  16. and this is one of the stickied threads in the off-road forum... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29778
  17. I'm mostly ready to go. looks like only the red brat and Ski Wagon will be making the show. I think I've got a slight HG leak on the 86 Brat...
