  1. yep. no need to take out the driveshaft with the manual tranny. I've flat towed lots, and learned to always take the widest path around a curve. you may want to make sure your adjustable front suspension is turned down all the way. any positive camber will definitely make your wheels track like that.... I have also tried using some bungee cords to limit the steering wheel movement, with some success, but it hard to find places to hook to
  2. I thought on ea82,s you needed to turn the weber 180 deg to get it to fit with the other accessories... if you raised the weber up some, would it fit? I had to use 2 .5" spacers to get above the disty with this carb... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/holley3.jpg
  3. I towed a lifted turbo brat 5 hours on a tow dolly, and the steering wheel wasn't locked.... but I can see where you'd be concerned... double pivot point.....
  4. found these very good write-ups today.... http://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/showpost.php?p=292765&postcount=1 http://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/showpost.php?p=521943&postcount=33
  5. websense filtered out your IP with the category: "Sex"
  6. I'll probably bring one of my Brat's up to the camprgrounds, and have my wife drive the Ski Wagon or other Brat up for the "show" on saturday. maybe take a volunteer back to my house to get the 3rd one for the show on saturday.....
  7. Andrew, easiest way for you would be to hop on 80 and just scoot across. Just remember to have someone talking to you through Nebraska so you don't go to sleep.... at least it's green in Iowa
  8. 1875 one way, so 3750 of just "WCSS7 miles" but logged 4750 miles for my whole vacation/trip, etc....
  9. for the front, any 85-89 RX front springs should work. easier to just swap out the whol strut assembly if available....
  10. wish I could have brought the WA weather with me.... low of 81 sunday.
  11. you can even do it to a brat.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/brats/cbrat/cbrat.html
  12. Whew! just made it home tonight at about 10:00 PM CDT feels good to be back. logged 4750 miles over the course of 2 weeks. I'm not up for a "Northwet" though
  13. bump. I'm gonna start putting together a "camping roster" so you will know what "site" you will be at if you are asked, and to make sure we don't go over our limit......
  14. i too would like to thank eveyone for a great time, and to Mr. Z for his hospitality the prior week. was great to meet more of the board members, and talk with those I met at WCSS3.....
  15. the market has been up and down... a while back there was a '82 red brat on eBay, with only 75k on it. showroom like condition. it went for $6200. I've also seen some rust free ones with just depends on who's looking. that color would be the Aztec Gold as seen here for 1982. I think it was theonly year that color was offered on a Brat http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/brats/bratcolors/bratclrs.html
  16. Craig, that's right. it is a 600 CFM and I had to adjust the idle speed (controlled by the secondary throttle plate). it's a Holley 4160, so it just has a plate for the secondaries,so no jets you can swap out. Secondaries are vacuum operated, and it's got a manual choke. I was flogging it pretty good in the gravel pit at WCSS7. with a considerably heavier than stock Brat and 27" tires, it pulls like it was on stock tires (pulls better I think) In sept. I'll be hitting some hill climbs that will really show me the benefit of the cam.... I have to drive it a little differently than my other soobs, that's for sure... can't stomp it down right off idle. gotta be a little lighter with the foot right at first, but otherwise, it runs great...
  17. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/holley1.jpg http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/holley2.jpg http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/holley3.jpg http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/holley4.jpg http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/holley5.jpg I ran this set-up at WCSS7, without any problems.... (I had a snorkle set-up on it though...)
  18. okay, got mine uploaded..... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/offroad/wcss7/wcss7.html
  19. that is correct. all Gen2 body style vehicles can interchange axles (someminor differences, but will work fine), but the Gen3 (ea82 body style) vehicles have longer axles, and 2 different spline counts on the trans side (DOJ cup)...
  20. when got to my Motel in Pt. Townsend today, I discovered that I need at least 8' of clearance with the Brat on the trailer, to clear my lightbar!!! they had a 7'6" roof over the lobby drive through... just snappedthe 2 bolts that held on my light bar, but no damage to the lights thankfully!!! they are just hanging by the wires, pointed up at the sky. got a couple of bolts today to set them back upright tomorrow
  21. here's a few.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/wcss7/PDC_0129.JPG http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/wcss7/PDC_0130.JPG http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/wcss7/PDC_0131.JPG http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/wcss7/PDC_0132.JPG http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/wcss7/PDC_0150.JPG
