Nope. Only 505, 504, and 604. the 604 is the diplomat style limo, so you won't see many of them around

it ended up being about $33 USD with shipping....

EA81 vs EA71 Auto transmission questions
mcbrat replied to SUBARU3's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the AT in my turbo brat seems pretty good yet. 144k miles. there's a 84 2wd wagon in town with an AT and well over 200k miles. (had 198k when I looked at it 2 years ago...) yes, there are time when the AT feels good to drive. in my past Chevy's, usually changed the ATF every 40k. I had a Dodge Grand caravan that the manual said change every 75k, but it's well known what crappy trans they had... I had it flushed changed every 15k, and it held up fine.... -
no need to entice competition  I've been watching for one of these for months.....

oil pump madness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Help
mcbrat replied to djbroadus's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I had the same problem on a 85 hatch. the piece inside the motor has an opening for the oil flow, and I was able to very carefully, and very slowly use a big screwdriver to rotate the piece of the pump inside, slowly applylying pressure to slide the pice out.... it took me a few hours! but all came out nicely without any damage... I was on a creeper underneath the front end... -
a new wheel(or just not on the page)
mcbrat replied to tailgatewagon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
cool. I grabbed the pic, plus the pic of the other old alloys you have out there.... I have lots of wheel updates to make -
I suppose it would depend on what you really want... A Brat or a Legacy Turbo. for a Brat with under 100k, $1300 is not unreasonable, unless it has rust issues. The Brat has some rust problem areas. floor pan of the cab, check for "soft" seams there. also check the frame rails. I have a Brat from Pa, and the rear frame rail below the gas tank filler, has big pieces missing from rusting away. The rockers are another bad area. also, check the rear shock mounts. they are prone to get eaten away as well..... of course, I'm biased.. but I'd like to have a Legacy Turbo though.....

this is a wheel (6 bolt like momo... ) I got on eBay. It was a "Volo", which was what was in the horm button. I took it out, and printed up my own logo, and put it in. looks really good....

always need to keep an eye open I just got this one delivered to my house. I probably will keep the GTO body on the Subaru chassis, but it's got a hi-po motor, and came with all electronics, including radio and chips, plus a small battery charger. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3165996102

there's a guy in TX who put a 89 GL-10 motor and trans into a 78 Brat, so it's do-able. there's a guy in CO who had a legacy motor/driveline in a gen1 brat as well, but with a lift... the rear discs from a ea82 Turbo or GL-10 will fit right onto the GEn2 rears, but not sure about the gen1 set-up, as the rear suspension was different. reason for "possibly" needing different axles, is due to differing spline counts on the trans stubs between turb/carbed. do you want to keep it all Subaru?

yep, the guy who bought Mtn Grizzly had the PS pump freeze up. he cut the belt off, and has been driving it that way ever since....

the "slant" consoles were available in brown, gray, and blue (80-81 type blue) looking at the 80 brochure, they show the regular flat one with a cassette player, but also mention that a combo radio/cassette unit is available (I've never seen one from that vintage (combo unit) I've seen the slant console in 80 DL and GLs. the blue color for either type console is only avaialble on the GL wagons in 80-81 I believe. maybe 82... in 83 the blue color is darker... I had 2 brown slant consoles at one time. on was all brown, and the other was brown with a black "face". not sure if it was a different year, or someone painted it. looked stock.....

Shipping a Subaru - What do you think?
mcbrat replied to clantieri's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
that sounds about right for that distance.... I've used http://www.aactionmovers.com in the past. they had the best rates at the time.... -
I think the 8 lug wheels are 8 on 6.5" instead of 8 on 5.5"

gen 1 brat vs gen 2 interior room
mcbrat replied to snowstormer's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
somebody did a pretty decent job of fixing all the rust issues a long time ago, but it's back as always.... some pics can be seen in my signature link. it's an automatic. I didn't really expect you to say yes I really don't need anymore brats, and just need to sell my turbo and 78 in the spring anyway..... -
looks like you can get a momo adapter for almost all soobs.... http://www.autosupermart.com/shop/momo00286.html http://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/catalog/shopcart/DWKS/POR_DWKS_mohubs_pg8.htm http://www.99pline.com/Hub_Guide_files/Hub_Guide.htm http://www.gprparts.com/brands/momoCorse/SWH_RS.asp

Shawn hit it on the head... looks like the original zozzle broke, and they just filled in the hole... so, since it had the inside hole, I put a stubby screwdriver in from the inside and gave it a whack. popped a small hole through the outside... I cleaned out the hole witha dremel side cut bit, and installed a junkyard nozzle with a bit of silicone to help seal it. looks perfect...

hmmm. good info. I'm looking for one for my red brat.... I have a handheld one right now, but the antenna was missing, so I slightly modified a short base antenna to fit in... looks dorky, but works, but not very good to use inside the vehicle -
well, the momo one that was just on eBay, stated it was for up through 80... I have one I got a while back, and it did not really want to go on at all on any of my gen2 Brats... but did fit on a 80-81 wagon better. Still had to push it all the way on with the tightening bolt. definitely a tight fit. will need a puller to get it off....
