  1. it's supposed to help give it a bit more throaty sound.... I don't have one on my '82...
  2. the middle section is a resonator. just 1 single cat in the Y pipe if stock. they'll probably just cut and add a bend after the Y pipe to take the whole thing closer to the body....
  3. any MO members coming up to the campout? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=820119#post820119
  4. the wheels you guys have is on the page.... This pic was from a long time ago, and they were mounted on a Brat..... I think one of you has this set now.... as far as my wheels, I think got them from SVXpert some time ago... He had access to lots of Rally type stuff like that from overseas....
  5. ok. finally got done with all the painting of the new metal.... it's definitely an off-road style paint job but it'll work just fine.... Roll cage is white. front bumper is white, steering, subframe, and links are all silver. now to finish the assembly.... fuel cell install is next...
  6. so who has the set that were off this Brat.... http://www.indysworld.com/80s/general/wheels/wheels.html#soob14 I think I've got the only set of the Chome 14" Rallys in the US...
  7. I had Cruise in Mountain Grizzly when I first lifted it. I had to remount the vacuum container, and the throttle cable bracket that attached to the spare tire support bar.... though my cruise never worked.... I think I ended up ripping it out......
  8. I haven't had a chance to get pics yet. it's too cramped in the garage to get good pics.... trying to get my 2 final coats of paint on tonight..... then I can roll it outside....
  9. is the fan still wired to the coil directly?
  10. for wheeling, this is the best place for soobs.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=98207 and it's only open to the public once this year.... for my clubs event.....
  11. you mention a new ign lock cylinder.... have you tried a new ign switch? I had one that went bad, and really made stuff wacky killed a few alts too.... along with killed batteries....
  12. Nope. all stock gears....everywhere. For the places I wheel, it should be fine. In fact, because of the high range reduction in the sammy t-case, I should be able to run High-High too with plenty of oomph for hiway driving..... Brake lines and exhaust are all that's left to purchase thankfully (well, until next year, when it's mud tires and a bigger winch)
  13. spent last night cleaning up the engine bay electrical.... rerouting for the new battery location. zip tied up the loom that runs under the radiator to the new core support. got the MSD6A remounted.... got the winch and centerlamp put back in place... Discovered lots of rust through from the bed into the cab right where the welds are. Need to get the holes repaired/sealed before mounting the fuel cell...
  14. yes, I looked around at lots of options. most would work good in a "stock" type battery location or "common" relocation area like a bed, but the "tray" area was the best location for me, which unfortunately is just big enough to fit the battery only, and I had to figure out how to mount my hold down in the odd shaped tray area... the erector set model worked great for this.... plus I didn't want to spend much $$
  15. they can be mounted like that if they are a AGM battery (Optima, Odyssey). my battery got plenty wet in the stock location and remember, the batter is a bit higher now too But I was thinking about putting a splash cover on it just in case.... This battery is a rebranded Odyssey dual purpose (Starting and Deep Cycle) Marine battery.
  16. that's my goal but I'm getting pressure to finish the house stuff
  17. my new Erector Set Battery hold down. I ended up cutting the tire hold-down hump off to get it to fit. what's left is the section the pitch stopper mount is welded to....
  18. email sent.... http://www.indysworld.com/decals/
  19. I'm working on it... I just got the final coat on the front bumper/guard tonight... need to finish off the roll cage tomorow if it's warm enough. then the "running" reassembly starts... along with painting the underside....
  20. Greenley, still waiting to finish the deal... or a refund....
