  1. Once trust is broken, trust is broken. Would make me wonder about what other lies they are willing to tell to sell a repair, a service, or a car. nipper
  2. Translated: We are going to mark up any obscene amount and try to sucker you into thinking the goverment set it because they laoned the car industry a ton of money (even though it wasnt us they lent it to)" WOuld be interesting to see what he said when you want to see that in wiriting. nipper
  3. Thats what you get for going to Hawaii. Sounds like a critter may have helped himslef to a subaru for lunch. nipper
  4. sometimes it just doesnt pay to go to chain stores. nipper
  5. Gas is stored in the ground at 50 degrees. Thats how warm the earth is below the frost line. Thats an old wives tail, unless the fuel is stored above ground. ALso in the morning cold air is also denser then warm air. But eht engine oil is thicked too. Usually we kill our gas mileage by letting the car warm up (as we should in bitter cold). Winter kills gas mileage, its that simple. nipper
  6. Blu was getting 19, 28. The front O2 sensor went bad now im getting 16, 23. Bet your front O2 sensor is long in the tooth. Ethanol fuel really doesnt do a big hit, and winter blend doesnt either, its the cold weather that comes along with the winter blend that does it. Also a lazy T-stat will give you lower gas mileage. nipper
  7. Lifetime warrenty usually means "we know the part will last at leats a year, andafter that 98% of people get a new car, sell the car, or loose the sales slip" Usuallt the lifetime warenty covers the original purchase only, not the replacement part. nipper
  8. www.endwrench.com look in the archives nipper How many miles on your car nipper
  9. This may not be good. Get the tires taken care of sooner then later. At the very leats do a drai and fill. i prefer a ull flush, but with the winter and holidays. When the car is doing a tight turn. Can it do it on its own, or do you have to give it gas. It should do it on its own with minimal throttle to get it going. If it takes a lot of power you have TB. nipper
  10. And be aware that tire pressure changes with air temperitures. nipper Every ten degree temp in air pressure you loose 1 psi of tire pressure. You are mor apt to see a temp change from 40 to zero where you live then to see an elevation change in your driveway. Besides on a long trip you should be cheking your tire pressure anyway, like i know we all do. Dont we? http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=73 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=167
  11. We got two inches of snow the other day, with a layer of ice. The next day i was at the pizza place. The delivery driver wouldnt make runs because the roads were too slippery and his car was RWD. He had to call his girlfriend to come get him. Needless to say we all shamed him for that. There is nothing wrong with RWD in snow, just some drives are better, but it does xome down to tires. Even with AWD iif you have speed rated "summer tires" on the car you will have issues, as opposed to rwd with snows. So make sure you have the proper tires, at the very least a good all season with alot of tread on it. It makes the world of differnce. After that is just finding an empty parking lot and teach yourself how the car will react. nipper
  12. YOu can try as it wont hurt at this point, but the clutches are most likely wiped out. nipper
  13. I said the front sensor was supposedly OE. Open loop and closed lop has nothing to do with cat performance that is why i dont think it is a cat. The engine performance is fine, as is the load the the can gauge shows at given rpms/conditins. I'll just go with my instinct then. i was hoping to find someone else who had a similar condition since money is tight, and i dont have a garage, and there is this cold white stuff all over the place. nipper
  14. Not the cat because the cat wouldnt be instantly responsive to throttle poition. There would be a time delay, and it would not be going in and out of open loop closed loop all the time. i am just hoping its not a cracked pipe.
