It can always be the tranny, but hard to tell via the web. The whine is unusual. Whine is usually a hint of something more hidous wrong. If somone drives with Torque bind (without caring), it is very possible to damage the transmission. Dealers arent big fans of selling transmissions, so i would pay head to what they have to say. On the bright side, a used one is much cheaper. The whine can be the front diff, or an internal bearing or three. Driving with TB can beat up the bearings, which in turn can destroy the case. Its possible, rare but possible. What condition is the tranny lube and front diff lube in? nipper

Er Um..... scary tow moment. On the PA turnpike going to NJ and my 87 throws a timing belt on a sunday of a three day weekend. Did the AAA gold dance to get the car home. The PA tow truck driver looked alot like this picture, and said to me "your too pretty to be left out here alone" i was so happy he was just getting my car removed from the turnpike so AAA could rescue me. nipper -
The feed me light can come on and off with the angle of the car. Its when it stays on that you need to pay attention to it. Mine flickers on and off about E (which is normal for any light) as the fule sloshes around, and as the jet pump (in AWD subarus) moves fuel around. It could be you may be due for a fuel filter, and thats affecting the jet pump effeciency. nipper

Blu has 7.3 Inches acording to the cars101.com chart. a 4" lift kit is in the mail, which increases it by 2" (replaces the factory 2" lift). Blu will have 9.3 inches of clearance soon. Way cool. nipper

There is another thing to look at.... With a hybrid you will be giving less money to people that hate us, and (hopefully) get our sons/daughters/Fathers/mothers/bothers/sisters out of harms way sooner. nipper

That is a reasonable thing to do. And it does add to the gas mileage signifcantly. nipper

Engine stalls, the car just rolls. The tranny pump looses pressure so it is like being in neutral. 24 mpg is not bad. It takes at least 3 tanks of gas to determine baseline MPG. i get 20/24 in my 2.5L OBW auto. i can see 29mpg if i stick to 60, but thats no fun. Also do 60 here and you back up traffic. nipper nipper
