  1. how technical are you, its easier to check a pressure switch firts, do you have a meter? nipper
  2. On value, they get you coming and going. This will get ugly stand your ground. I had a 1998 legacy. When it got totaled the insurance company pulled the history on the car (history only known to insurance companies, not carfax). They told me the car had less values since it had two unknown claims before i bought the car. I did get the insurance company to say that these claims could be as minor as glass, and they still said that they devalued the car. I argued the point about the stupidity of the glass, but i did not get anywhere. Also 6 months before the car was hit while parked, there was no structural damage, but the bumper skin and grill were replaced (car looked better then when i bought it). They said this devalued the car. Don't buy the insurance companies claim it will have the same value. They are theives (the companies not the agents) and total scum, and are out to screw people any chance they get. My agent is so pissed at my insurance company, and frustrated as they are telling him things he never heard of, and i have a major company. Another example, i've been out of work since last july, and will be probably for another year (gets me really upset). The insurance company has been making my lost wages payments 2 days later each month. This would have them making 11 monthly payments a year instead of 12. My lawyer jumped down thier throats on that one. i am so glad you get medical attention. i am sooooooooo sorry the kids were in the car, but kids tend to bounce back. Being freaked out, im 44 and i am still freaked out, i watched everything happen in the rear veiw mirrior. Keep an eye on your injuries for the two months. anything weird in your legs, see a dr asap, dont think its the weather or old age creeping up or anything like that. Good luck. nipper
  3. as long as the trie circumfrence is the same, the sensors wont give you a false road speed. nipper
  4. ild take the 98. The turbo trannies are weak, and in 366 days... You need to get in wiriting what it covers, but ild take the 98. nipper
  5. heheh but i liked the vision of four self propeled lawnmowers moving the car nipper
  6. what he said. Usually does nothing means no freon, but check the fuses. nipper
  7. reset the puter. Check the codes if they come up again and list them all here. We can maybe trace them out. See what the common denomination is, maybe they are all on the same wire loom. nipper
  8. 1997 1/2 was the design change. But also realize that things do break as they get older. my awd went out at 185,000 miles. Thats just age. nipper
  9. thats right. and there isnt alot to a coil, so its an acurate drawing. nipper
  10. no i think your not understanding whats going on. Anytime you force car into awd, weather the car is moving or not, your going to get a flashing light on the next start up. Put the switch in normal mode. Start the car. Shut off the car, then restart the car. dont touch the switch. See what happens. and ANDJO BAD! no more playing with him. nipper
  11. ask Jamie, im not sure if the are a repair part or a superceeded part . nipper
  12. i have BF Goodridge, but sooo wanted the tripple treads, but at the time didnt have the cash. nipper
  13. THE SOLENOID IS POWERED TO PUT THE CAR IN FWD. Its like having a burnt ouy light bulb, you can replace the light switch, the fuses, the cricuit breakers and the wiring, and the bulb will still be out. Also if you read the andjo directions, i do remeber it saying that if the switch is in the non normal position, it will trigger the TEMP fault light when the car is started. The way the light works is that it is telling you of a previous fault. Also the way the system works. The system being forced into, AWD which is not a normal parimeter. Forcing FWD is a normal parimeter. When you flip the switch to force awd, the computer sees it as a short in the system and will kick up a duty c fault. Not only is the puter powering the solenoid, its is looking for the voltage spikes (what we would call noise) that tell it the solenoid responded to the command. Its not seeing that spike. nipper
  14. if its not you dont go anywhere. The differntial body is part pf the tranny case. Yes there is a plug, and a dipstick (on some i think ) nipper
  15. huh? differntial lubricant is in the differntial. Transmission fluid is in the trannny and awd unit in the automatic. is that what you meant?
  16. they used to be, but there seemed to be a bad batch of them around in 1999? i would have to check. Subaru trannies are very robust. treat them right, resepct the AWD and you can get one to last the life of the car. nipper
