Subaru should do high mileage grill badges like Mercedes-Benz does, I'm sure there would be a lot of cars running around with them if they did.

So i poured a bunch of acetone in my fuel tank...

I wonder if it will hurt cars that require higher octane gas? -
Sea Foam is the greatest stuff ever invented, it does a very good job cleaning up the oil..

Be careful, I almost hit a heard of Elk there once, when coming into a blind corner... My cousin also died not to far from their when her car flew off the road and hit a tree...

Where did you crash at? I almost lost it in my Legacy a few years ago on Badger Mountian doing 70mph on one of those primative roads, when there was still 2 feet of snow on the ground...

Ok, it's working for me now, sort of looks like something some guys I went to high school with would do, actually I think a guy actually did that with an old GL wagon, but he somehow totaled that car..

What are my options with this stuck bolt
123c replied to Joey Joe's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Anyone try the Sea Foam Deep Creep? I'm thinking about getting a can to try the next time I get a stuck bolt. -
Actually, the vehicle I was going to build the box for was an old Toyota Landcruiser wagon I was going to buy, but skipped on when fuel prices went so high. I had many detailed plans for building them, with all the detailed blueprints with material lists and estimated costs. The proper drawer slides, that can hold any weight cost between $90 and $160, or at least the ones for a Land Cruiser, probally one for a Subaru will cost a little less. Sort of looks like I will have to make up my own plans once I get a wagon...

Has anyone built a rear storage box with drawers for their wagons? If so, does anyone know of good online resources with tips on construction? I've got a bunch of scrap materials I collected for another vehicle I was going to build a box for, and since i'm thinking about getting an older generation wagon, wondering if it's been done before...

I'm going on a year with a battery I got at Allied Battery, and no complaints yet. It's never gone dead, and it's got this neat little window that shows when it has a full charge. The best part is that it is completly sealed, for the most part, can't add water to the cells... The one I had in my Mercedes was going on 2 very strong years when i sold it, and it outlasted the 2 die-hards I had in it.

Just don't drive through deep compacted snow, this can cause getting high-centered, which is the worse way to get stuck, which my brother got his Legacy stuck this way once. I gave him a shovel and told him to start digging, it only took him like 15 minutes to get unstuck. I keep a shovel in my trunk for this reason, but I also know the snow to keep out of...

Something like that would work for me -
Rust Question?
123c replied to 123c's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
Yes, I hate the 4EAT's with a passion, the one in my '93 Legacy lost reverse, and the low mileage one that replaced it has problems, so this is making me hate them more and more every day. I'm sure I can go to the greater Seattle area and find exactly what I want in only a few hours time... -

Rust Question?
123c replied to 123c's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
About a mile away from this car, there is another lower mileage outback for $6,000, but it also has a slush box tranny, which I hate -
I've been looking for an early Outback wagon, and I found a lower mileage 1997 with a 5-speed, however the thing has lots of rust . Should rust be a problem on these things, or is this one from a place where lots of road salts are used. The asking price is $7400, should I offer something like $4000 if the mechanicals check out?

seafoam

Seafoam is awsome stuff, it's even more of a mystery than the Marval Mystery Oil. I'm going to dump some in a few hundered miles before I change my oil next, but I hope it doesn't offset the benifits that running Mobil 1 for the last 8,000 miles will bring me... I am also planning on running the Seafoam transmission flush before I service my transmission...
