  1. What about this. I am doing the EJ25 with EJ18 heads and EJ18 5sp tranny. Will EJ22 stage 1 clutch and EJ22 lightweight flywheel work for this? I am ordering parts tonight. So EJ18 tranny plus EJ25 block plus EJ18 heads. It works right with all EJ22 stuff? Thanks
  2. Ok, read up on that thread... Didnt actually find any info pertaining to simply using a ej25dohc block with my ej18 heads, seems like it should b ok, but i know that the ej25dohc blocks are of course interference so im trying to see if it will be straightforward bolt up or if its a guts job. any insight is awesome and makes you a crunchy subaru guru hahahaha
  3. Thanks for all the info guys. I already have a 92 EJ22 sitting on my porch. Just debating on trying to find an EJ25 or just sport the EJ22 for a while. Thanks for the link renob. There is mad information there.
  4. My buddy works at a subaru shop that is doing the rebuild. Would an 97ish DOHC EJ25 (oval or square port?) block work with the EJ18 head? More displacement equals POWAA! and if it means risk rebuild every 60K then thats ok.
  5. Sorry, forgot bout this post! The swap draws very near and the donor block in question is a early 90s leg version. also wondering bout headgasket thickness..... know there are a cpl ( i think .035-.045...) thanks!
  6. Can i put the EJ25 SOHC heads on a EJ25 DOHC block? Its to go into an 01 forrester. I have the stock intake manifold and all goodies. Just looking to avoid buying a 30K jap motor for $2500 when i can get a block for $250. Any info appreciated
  7. It was soo long ago. But i think Allied Armament made this one of a kind EA81 bumper for me. It was strong and looked great!!!

  10. Im putting the 2.2 in my 1993 Impreza. So i am wondering who has done this? and does it work fine putting the EJ18 heads and intake on top of the EJ22? Im just looking to get better compression and better power out of a EJ22. I am planning on new timing belt kit, water pump, JDM racing lightweight flywheel, stage 1 clutch, cold air intake and open exhaust. Any info is very appriciated.
  11. Lets see what I got here. I got more video than pics of my lifted wagon when i had it. NoahDL and I like in 2004 or something
  12. I am thinking of doing this same EJ22 into EA82 swap. About how much did your swap cost and is it worth all the pain in the rump roast?
  13. I am going to be putting in a 2.2 into my 1.8 Impreza soon. I know you can just keep the 1.8 intake manifold and just slap it onto the EJ22 bottom end. I need a stage 1 clutch kit for this swap because I plan on running some good power. Anybody have good suggestions for a performance clutch kit for the EJ22? I would love any suggestions for this swap. I am so excited to be building an impreza!!
  14. yeah im gonna look around and keep my eye out for wrecked OBS and WRXs. They're hard to find around here wrecked. But this is a work is progress and will take some time.First thing is clutch and suspension. I will be ordering those parts in 2 weeks.
  15. I plan on getting it running and driving first. Replace clutch and get lightweight flywheel.(anybody know a good webiste to order them?) Replace front axles Im going with the KYB GR2 struts with 1.5in lowering springs all around. Replace Valve cover gasket and anything else leaking under the hood. THEN: Glossy Black paint job Gold or Silver 16in rims Projector headlights OBS hood with hood scoop and vents OBS front bumper or early version STI bumper RS Spoiler This is going to be the nicest subaru I have had yet. So im going to put a lot of time and money into it. i have always wanted and early version STI now I can build one.
  16. What do you mean by this? Where would i get one of those? Wouldnt this work? http://www.rallitek.com/swbarkitfr.html Or do I need a different rear subframe. I do want to do front and rear sway bars. I have looked at Rallitek stuff and Perrin Performance stuff. Its pricey!
  17. Awesome AIR!!!! Hahaha thats an sweet old video.
  18. Haha my GF loves it too. Do you have a build thread for that WRX swap? I need inspiration!!!

  20. Where did you get that? That is such a cool and much safer rear view mirror. Good luck on the build!
  21. read through a lot of it already before i posted but couldnt make sense of some of it, plus eyeballs falling out hahahah. Just hoping to snag someone that just did it and likes the result but thanks anyhow!

    Another suby build

Damn nice skid plate. If you go fast enough you could skimmm over the top of a deep mudhole. Try hitting some deep snow at 30MPH and see if you sled on it. HHAHAHA:banana:
  24. I had those exact 36in TSL SX tires on my 4runner for 2 years and they rule!! They do amazing in the mud and rocks. They do lack in the snow a little. Where are your beadlocks? hahahahah
