Score !!!!!
yea it will probably stay in Bozeman.... as to the plan its got to go Hatch/brat. ive never made a 4in lift but ill give it a go. (made an 8in kit that worked out well. budy never finished the drive train so components are still untested but we made it from 2x8 square stock with 1/4 walls so it think it aught to hold up) ill have to get a rear wall from a brat. thinking the gen1 brat might be a better option but will measure it up and see. six lug wheels(as there cheep and easy) lsd rear twin stick ebrake...

Gen 1 door hinges
part numbers for 78 are as follows. LH Lower 661247370 RH LOwer 661247360 apperars the pass side is still avalible for 45.00 or so from subaruparts.com applications crossed teh model year so you should be able to use any hinge from any subaru pre79 and post 77, except for the Hard Top. they have a differnt part number. anyway hope that helps. let me know if you need any other part numbers.

my '78 wagon needs a trannie
here here on the front hub band wagon. here is any easy way to tell. get someone to drive the car (well try and drive it) in 2wd while you are out side with the hubcaps off look at the big nut in the center of the wheel if it is spinning on one side or the other but the car isnt moving then you have found your striped hub. and you should be able to get a hub from the board here or your local pick a part for 5.00 or so...

Axle Nut 1, Breaker Bar 0
tailgatewagon replied to Andyjo's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXkinda funny story... i was trying to get a lego nut off and couldnt had just broken my S&K 1/2 braker bar. well in walks the snapon guy. and i said ill buy your bigest 1/2 impact gun if it will take this off. well he started drolling and ran to the truck, outcome 110lb s of air pressure. snapon gun just sat there and rattled. it was funny to see the look on his face... so i took a die grinder and cut the nut up and off it came.

-
Thinking of buying a 78 wagon
looks kinda ruff. not worth more then 500. imho. maybe ifyour in the rust bucket country its worth more....... seams like for 1300 you could find a rust free one.................... kinda funny on the rust deal. here in montana i see brats and wagons that have been parked for 5+ years out in the open with less rust....
