  1. Steve, if you need a set of rollers i got the rims on my brat that have new tires. The tires are big though, i havent had a chance to check the size but they will be available when you come to drop off those two.
  2. It was cut and welded at the A pillar, so the roof is fine. Except, there used to be T-Tops but he filled them in. So if I tried to install a moonroof, i would have to cut through his T-Top patches. I dont think im going to do anything to the body, except for install some Targa Stripes
  3. The diagram they show is the dashboard of a Legacy. And the connectors they describe in that diagram are for the OBD1 & OBD2 EJ22's. Not sure if the codes they list are compatible with the EA82.
  4. I Got some parts for him he needs to pick up from me. That and im going to have him help do the swap
  5. Sweet, when you figure it out let us know. There are a ton of veteran Subaru off-roaders here who have been wheelin, lifting, and modifying these cars for years and are still trying to figure out a way to lock the front diff. You can weld it, just hope you dont plan on turning left or right anymore
  6. Got the truck running on Sunday. Been workin the bugs out all week. Rented a truck & a trailer from work today, and will be leaving bright and early tomorrow morning. Took Friday off so I can have a three day weekend and my co-worker and I will be on the Rubicon all weekend First trip up there, and first time wheelin since Oct '07 Be back with Pix & Video
  7. Would love to see how you plan on putting a "posi" in the front. Will definatly look cool lifted though!
  8. Talked to Jibs today, and he is planning on bringing me the transmission next weekend. I will most likely spend next week cleaning the garage and preparing it so I have room to do a tranny swap... So, next weekend
  9. I had a EA81 once that had an aftermarket pump that was mounted under the hood. It never had any trouble, but they are designed to push fuel, not suck fuel... so the closer to the tank the better.
  10. 2WD XT struts are the shortest struts Subaru made for the EA82 series. I wouldnt recommend them if lift is what your after.
  11. I think its kinda hard. But thats just me. I would rather spend the $300 or so on a lift that has already been engineered & tested... than spend $300 on materials, and a couple months working all the bugs out. When lifting the front of your car, you need to offset the front struts to retain the propper wheel camber. If you just add blocks to the top of the struts, your camber will be greatly effected. And there are no adjustments, so you have to offset the blocks just right to avoid uneven tire wear. The rest, yeah, its pretty much just blocks. There are plenty of people who have made their own lifts and they work great.
  12. When you insert the key, can you back it off any? It sounds like its in the ACC position and the key is worn enough so you can insert it still.
  13. If its a loyale, there is a 99% chance it is NOT a turbo. But it will be Fuel Injected.
  14. You dont have alot of choice when it comes to lifting a Subaru. There is no "Frame" so you wont notice the body lift like you do on Trucks. If you want to save your CV's, you have to use a lift kit. Do yourself a favor, and read through some of the threads in our "Off-Road" forum. There is a TON of information and pictures there to help you understand.
  15. You sure its a 21R and not a 20R? Or a 22R? I didnt think they came out with 21R's but you guys overseas get some funky stuff. Thats a great looking truck, minus the bed. A friend of mine has a '82 with the same body. We built a flatbed for it, and are in the process of putting an exo-cage on it. Its a rock crawler. Love that body style, mine is alittle newer with the '86 Body.
  16. Heya. I take it by the name you live in Reno NV? Alot of good Subie folk up that way. I try to make it up there a few times a year to visit. I just picked up a Brat myself. Get that thing road worthy and we can have some sort of Brat Meet
  17. 36" Jack that sucker up!! I hear you can fit 44" tires under there if you trim the fenders alittle. Forget the axles!! They can handle it!!
  18. No other plans right now, just going to pretty it up. Put the Brat Targa Stripes on it. I drove it around the other day, and the transmission whines really bad. Car was running hot as well. Im hoping its just the extra drag on the transmission thats causing it to run hot... I guess i'll know more when i start wrenchin on it.
  19. Yeah mick, I was thinking that. I was also thinking of taking these panels into an upholstery shop and having them do some custom panels.
  20. Yeah... other EA81 seats. If you want Legacy or EA82 seats, you need to modify their frame rails.
