  3. sounds good, be nice to be on the trail with you Will , Jeff and I had a blast last time we went out he did quite well with that open diff wonder Soobie , Jeffs a great driver, Ill have my white car, may need extra clearence lights when were done , lets see some pictures of your car build as you go along,
  4. Ben you will need to trim and bash quite a bit , the gearing will lack with such big tires, I would recommend finding a set of 215/75-15 or 225/75-15 , should be able to find a used set easy enough , Im running 26" mud tires on my white wagon and they work fine and still have the lower gear wich comes in handy climbing hills zzz zzz zzz
  5. whats your Schedule on this ?where and what time are we meeting, If Robs car is ready and Wills Secret Weapon is a go I want to be there , is this a guys only or can Marlene and Alea come ?
  6. Ive seem many of them at this site just look around http://www.zukikrawlers.com/index.php
  7. heres one of the best outing I went on , I was the only Subaru click picture to watch the Video
  8. should I sent you a harness , will you chop it and mark it and send back??
  9. Jeff should I go to the wedding or the wheelin party, I might not be able to make both?
  10. Eric do you really want to do this? I think weve done this in the past, I enjoy the ride and feel of a subaru over a toyota pickup or any pickup , when you wish you had something else is when your stuck and cant go any further, thats when a toyota would surpass the soobie, now that said 5 years ago I had a 86 toyota extra cab with 31" tires , I loved the truck it looked awesome with chrome wheels and all , it cost me $3000, the most Ive ever paid for any vehicle, I sold it as it wouldnt hold 2 adults and a baby seat, it looked cool but was disapointing offroad, remember this was stock IFS with A/Ts , I like the lightness of the subaru and they feel stable, now the White 88 EA82 wagon I have with a locked rearend and yes a 2.2EJ and some mud tires preforms quite nicely offroad, it will haul my whole family and a bag of snacks , I know its not stock , I have taken stock Subarus offroad with road tires and they just dont go especialy in the mud, now if I wanted I could build up a nice Toyota but I really dont want one, 1 year ago I almost went Sammy , I looked at a few almost bought one but the guy couldnt find the title till I got home and then I decided not to , I like to take my girls with me and the enclosed car really works out well, now I feel the wheelbase on the Subaru is about right, Ive watched many a Sammy roll over on hill climbs on You-Tube , I know you didnt ask about the Sammy but Im throwing it out there , one of the biggest drawbacks of the subaru is Lack of low gears, well if you cut down your vehicles weight, keep the tires under 27" and have more power say a good EA81 or a EJ , yes throw out the EA82 engine then you have a OK offroader, good enough for what I want to do, I really have no desire to go rock crawling and yes I to know the limits of my machine and what it will of will not do and Im happy with that, your Toyaota will go places my car wont but at the end of the day we all end back home anyway, never really went anywhere Just went out to had fun and isnt that what wheelin is all about anyway?? I enjoy a chalenge and building and driving a vehicle to meet the chalenge , Ive been there when axles have broke , radius rods have bent , head gaskets have blown and lift blocks have failed all on a soobie, Ive gone out and watched a Jeep blow a front knuckle , also a Trooper blow a hub , also seen a few tires ripped, seen the steering go bad on a old land cruiser , anyway Im rambling Scott
  11. I can help with that
  12. I really Love this car, Its awesome, couple things I will be changing is on the rear I went straight up with the lift blocks, well the rear tire sits closer to the front edge near the door , the wheel isnt centered in the opening, this causes the rear tires to rub on the seat belt bolt stud when you hit a big bump, I will be replacing those blocks with holes more toward the rear ,also its easier to trim the rear plastic bumper instead of the steel near the door , also the front has more camber then I want, I will be changing that on the next set of extentions which will fix that,
  13. Jeff we just need to set a calendar like say every month on the second Saturday we are going Wheelin Walker Valley or ?? and then others can plan for it , then as we get a group of say 4 or 5 regulars we can Organize, Web wheelin is OK but we really need to get pur cars into the Woods, Scott
  14. dont give me that , its a Subaru not a Tank , you can afford it if you realy wanted to Ive driven farther for a outing then that
  15. wrong, I'll go up against any hatch with my wagon anyday heres my old lightened EA82 that went awesome, your tire size will kill your gearing , thus your usable power with the EA82 engine dont go to big ( like Jeff), also ditch most all the extra gear and heavy roof racks and bumpers and winch people seem to like to add on , also run 1/4-1/2 tank Gas to reduce wieght all that extra weight is a killer on hill climbs, and when you cant make it all the extra people jump out of the car
  16. is it just me or are these similar
  17. Shean looks great can I use your pictures on my web site? now lets go wheelin !
  18. one thing I wish we had on each outing was a guy with a camera, seems like a lot of good video and pictures are missed , so we need to recruit some guy that just wants to ride and take pictures,
  19. there is no one planned coming with me, just my car with wife and child, I will be on channel 5 on the CB staying somewhere near tillimook will be on the dunes thursday all day, maybe wedsday also , Friday hit the woods, havent made any contact there and saturday hit the show , sat evening hit the road for home Scott
  20. EA82 requires no pounding, just on the EA81s
  21. Jeff I all for it , would be nice if the name honored the Subaru in some way, I think we voted you as the President, looks like within a month we should have a line of Walker Valley modified Soobies lets see what we got Scotts white EA82-EJ wagon (me) Kenny silver EJ-EA82 wagon Jeffs Maroon EA82 Wagon with a EA81 and huge tires Wills Secret project Robs Silver EA82-EJ Sedan Woody not sure what he has is it the Marron Sedan ea82 huge lift? Shean Blue Ea82 wagon should be a good group Im all for it , be nice to have someone to play with close to home
