  1. http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content.mv?port_code=autoweek&cat_code=carnews&loc_code=index&content_code=04399180 I really hate the new front end styling, i really dont think i could stand to buy a new sube if the front end lokked like this. Subarus i think right now look great the new Impreza front end makes it look i think better, the new Forester looks good, and the new 05 legacy look really nice. Subaru better not put this grill on all ther new cars.
  2. I dought GM had any say in the decion sence they do not own a large enough portion of Subaru to decide anything. Subaru just decided to go with the higher performace. Subaru has a huge performace croud also.
  3. My windshield squiters at freeway speeds shot over the car, and hits tail gaters.
  4. I dont have any problems with getting the strut in, I took opff the sway bar. The problem i have is when the strut is in the top mount, the part that conects to the hub is about 20-30 deggres off being able to slide on, and the top mount wont twist. I have done this before on my moms 91 legacy and had no problems.
  5. I vote for Jungalar (Outback deasart, Forester forest, Jungalar, Jungle its only logical .
  6. For the noise is probley a exhust heat shield. For the clunk it could be a broken trannie/engine mount.
  7. Thats a good idea. I would really do this, if i dident change my own oil.
  8. If its not your oil I would just take it to the dealer if its under warrenty. Let them fix it .
  9. Yeah i have always had good experiances with Carter Subaru, for parts and service.
  10. I was doing the air to gas suspension on my aunts 93 legacy wagon AWD. The front went in really easy, hour for both, but I(friend to) started on the rear and finaly got one rear one out, then started to put the new one in and we tightened it to the top a little, but found the strut would not align up with the hub assembley, it was about 20-30 deggres off being able to go over were you slide the bolts through. What is casing this? Could it be the people who loaded the struts (Firestone) did it wrong? I know the strut was the right side. I know the springs/topmounts/strut are all the right compnets, unless side to side makes a diffrence. AnY ideas my Aunt needs here car running. Thanks
  11. 176 whp is not that bad with a auto AWD, a stock Mk3 supra turbo 5spd (230 horse) will put out around 195 whp. I gtec pro dynoed my dads legacy, ej18 put out a amazing 70 whp.
  12. I heard Subaru dramticly under rated the forester/ baja turbo. People have dynoed the forester turbo and have put out around 230 WHP, only about 20 less than the STI!!! I think the new legacy turbo will have a more correct power rating than the forester/baja turbo, so maybe it wont have any more power.
  13. My dads 90 legacy use to do that with about 320,000 miles, but it ground bad one day like something poped into place and it works fine now or has been fine for about 20,000 miles . We found that if you went between 1st, 2nd, 2nd gear was poping out that it help shifting, and almost completly stoped the problem. If your trannie has a considerable amount of miles i would try this, but if has lower milage i would look at the mounts/shifting linkage.
  14. Thanks i dident know that you could swap a trannie with a newer bolt pattern on to the early bolt pattern. There is a person who swaped a 6spd on the svx on http://www.subaru-svx.net if any one wants to look, (just found out)
  15. The WRX STi spec C, puts out 330 horse out of the 2.0 liter turbo, but thats only avalible in europe.
  16. Does a skid plat also cover the oil filters? WHAT about 1 gen legacy, all out legacys have oil pan dents from rocks when we have gone 2 tracking.
  17. You could always swap a 5spd in it. Here some info if you want opn the 5spd conversion. http://www.smallcar.com/svx/5speed.htm
  18. On the svx board http://www.subaru-svx.net a person asked about this, there were a couple people on the board with over 100,000 miles with no probloems withthe neigne if i rember right, it was a while back. Still most do not have over 100,000 miles and even the bad subaru engines can manage that, but most people seem to think that it is a strong relible engine. I thought subaru was puting varible timing on and it bosted the power to like 250 or something for the newer modles, 05.
  19. http://www.subaru.net has alot of info on the o5 legacy for the states. Iam not sure if this was posted before but i couldent find it when i searched for it.
