  1. The tires were indeed pretty crappy and the wrong size (though all four were the same) so I replaced them today with four good tires I had sitting around off my RS. This seemed to smooth out the symptoms a little bit, but they are still present. The tranny fluid looked a little diluted and the a/t temp light blinked at me today for about 10 seconds afetr a warm start. I am going to replace the tranny filter and fluid along with the rear axle fluid and see if this helps anything out. BTW, the car has about 148k on it, and this is the first Subaru automatic I have had to deal with. I had a '95 Legacy AWD auto before this one and it had no issues. To tell the truth, I usually only buy stick shift, but this one was such a good deal I figured I could make some $$ off of it.
  2. I just picked up a '96 Outback and it has a couple of issues. It has an automatic trans and seems like it is binding up a little bit as the wheels turn in, with quite a bit of binding noticable at full lock. It also has an issue I haven't experienced before in any vehicle, which may be related: after the car is stopped and put into park, when I turn off the ignition the car lurches backward. Mind you, this is AFTER I have put it in park and it has been sitting still a few seconds. Very odd. Anyone with any similar experiences? Transmission mount maybe?
  3. Won't be making it this year... same weekend as Rock on the Range. (www.rockontherange.com). Guess I will have to wait for the Alcyone dragon run to see my Subaru friends this year.
  4. If it is far enough west in Tennessee and on a Sunday I may be able to make it.
  5. I wish I had the time! I went to opening night in April but it will be unlikely that I get to see another game this year. This summer is packed full culminating in a move at the end of July. If you do go make sure you get bleacher seats: the only way to see a game at Wrigley! Right field sucks!
  6. I just got a mountain bike, too... should I bring it? It's an older Specialized Expedition that may or may not fit in the back of Molly... :-p
  7. It's going to be really cool meeting alot of you, and seeing a few of you again. I wish I had time to put a clutch in Molly so I would trust her for a couple autox runs, but time is at a bit of a premium for me right now.
  8. I'd do it, but I wouldn't want to move to CT if anything Connie says is true.
  9. I registered for non-judged. I will probably just stay with my sister in Lancaster... or if anyone has some extra space on their campsite?
  10. That is the prettiest white XT6 I have seen. If I didn't have the prettiest black XT6 in my driveway I may just feel a bit jealous. :-p
  11. Maybe I'll make the trip out for this and make it my excuse to come visit my sister.
  12. As long as it doesn't coincide with the Alcyone dragon meet I may consider...
  13. IIRC Tubone had a couple laying around; he sent me one for Ruby Sue just before I sold her. May want to send him a pm.
  14. http://subaruxt.com/forum New user activation is back on line, so anyone who has already signed up or anyone who would like to have at it. You can message me or any other xt6.net member to make sure you get approved.
  15. But you didn't get to see Black Molly, so your day wasn't quite as bright as it could have been. Here's a shot of her on the way home from the meet just to let you know what you missed out on:
  16. He said he had to hit a junkyard that day or something.
  17. The last time the brakes were done, the rotors were turned and the pads were replaced with ceramics. The entire system was bled just before the Dragon trip this year, and I only use Valvoline synthetic DOT4. As to why they are not stopping the car anymore I cannot say as I didn't do the job, but she stopped very well for me. I agree with Ben that the pads are probably not seated properly. The shifter is sloppy and is just something I got used to. It probably could use new bushings to make it feel "right" again, and one of the springs that return the stick to center are missing. What is wrong with the clutch exactly? It isn't the strongest clutch in the world, but the only time it would slip is if someone tried an all wheel burnout, and I never even had any problems at the autox. Check the fluid in the tranny and check the drain plug as it worked loose on me once before iirc. The ignition coil I put on there is epoxy filled and shouldn't cause any problems, but it is still possible. The resistance specs can probably be found on MSD's site if you want to check it out. I put about 100 miles a day on her leading up to the day I sold her... she must really miss me. :-\
  18. It was a pretty cool meet; I was the only old school Soob there, though. The dealership served us all lasagna and salad, which was definately a first for a car meet for me.
  19. The board is down. I will be there showing off Molly in all her beautiful black sexiness. We need some more folk to come out to represent the old school subes.
  20. I was die hard Honda until I got my XT6. I delivered pizza for quite some time so they made perfect (reliable, fuel efficient, etc.) cars for the job. I had several go well over 200k on the original motor; even had a 1990 EX Accord that had 350k when I sold it (I think it's still running even). If you ever have any questions about yours, feel free to pm.
  21. Cool beans, dude! They didn't get too many pics of your Subie, but they really seemed to love that little yellow X19.
  22. You had people from nine different states at that wedding, none of which were blood relatives. That right there makes it about the coolest wedding I have ever attended.
