  1. Hi, plan on buying a used CV with a good boot. Now I am thinking I should replace the boots before I install the CV. So how do I do this? Oh and is $75 for a front right good cv and a auto tranny a good price? Local?
  2. I think it is. I don't think there really is a better balanced design or long lasting.
  3. yay!!!!!!!!!!!! I got some ACT ceramic pads BTW and plain brembo rotors. I can stop on a dime now with my crappy worn pads and worn discs. Imagine with nice new rotors and ceramic pads
  4. Thanks guys. Yes I noticed the swirl marks. If there not there, do I stil need to do break in? They are just plain brembo rotors.
  5. I ordered new rotors and pads all around. Now I remember reading somewhere that I need to break in new rotors? How is that done really, thats if it needs to be done. Thanks.
  6. Ill bet stock springs will work just fine. Are we cornering at 100mph or something? :-p
  7. We did 11.3 years with the original battery. Probably still worked fine to. Just we changed it because we were stuck on the side of the road with a dead battery, and we bought a new battery that was charged and drove home. Where is that battery you ask? I don't know :-p
  8. Ok, this time each wheel when we tightened the bleeder, we had the pedal depressed to the floor. AND we tryed DOT 4 fluid this time. synthetic. NOW i can lockup my brakes
  9. Thanks guys. Well when I bled each wheel I did it fairly fast and did bottom out the brakes. But doesn't matter going to redo the bleeding again because it looked really bad the fluid, once my brakes come in the mail. So before I tighten the bleeder, bottom out the brake pedal? Oh and forgot to mention, I had my dad filling the resovoir as I pumped the brakes.
  10. Is there something I forgot to do when I bleeded my brakes today? I just did loosened the bleed valve, hooked up my tube, kept depressing the pedal each wheel until i saw new fluid. Then just close it up. After doing all 4 filled up the brake fluid 3/4 full(pads, and rotor are worn, coming in the mail........) I know there was something I forgot to do. Car seemed OK, pedal didn't bottom out like before. And the resovoir fluid was brown? and red came out at each wheel but just depressed pedal till new colour stuff came out and depressed like 5 more times out the new stuff each wheel. Still I can't lock up my wheel. So hopefully getting new ceramic pads, and new plain brembo rotors (all 4) will fix my issue. But still is there something I am forgetting to do?? Thanks.
  11. here you go! http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/subaru.html ya what nipper said.
  12. Anyone notice the fuel pump kicks in when you tap the pedal at like 1/4 throttle? with key at ignition on but engine not started.
  13. Yup definitly is a speaker wire. The other one is the wire that goes to the relay for the rear wiper.
  14. +1 Glad everyone is ok, ya she got hit pretty hard, but hey still runs. That is what makes a Subaru a Subaru. Hey i made a new commercial
  15. Ha, you wouldn't believe this. My belt wasn't tensioned enough, from what it seems because when i got rid of the play in the belt. my voltage could hold 13.5v whether i turned on ac and wiper and light all at once. Guess thats fine?? Just to make sure im going to see if the cells are full. If there not ill get some distilled water. Warrenty is only 1 year i found out and its 1 year and 1 month old.
