Co: Meet In January!!!
eyesore replied to The Korean's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Awwww, we wouldn't give you a hard time if we didn't like you. And as for the meet: WOW I'm really impressed with the turnout. I'm sure that with some good advance warning, and a lot of coordination, we Rocky Mountain 'Ru fans can give WCSS a run for it's money. Hope to see more meets like this in the future (this summer?) Would like to find a venue that has some place to play, though. I thought we were in for a demo derby there for a minute. -

round headlights on hatch?
eyesore replied to monstaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I've been toying with the idea of running four of those big rounds on my hatch. 4 low beams, and 4 Highs. Plus, they're a close match in diameter to my KC lights. -

Thanks guys. Yeah, I've had plans for the lift before I even bought the car. Finances and timing finally came together. The camber doesn't feel bad, just looks odd. I think a lot of it has to do with the small size of the 13' wheels making it look even more pronounced. (not used to seeing the entire top of the tire in there.) Also the little wheels make it look even more lifted than it is. Kinda cool. Can't wait to do a final tightening, and get her out on the trail!! See ya at the meet. -
And So I Bid You Farewell....

"You'll be back, Rockatansky!!! You're hooked Max!" (Fifi Macafee, Mad Max) Glad to hear you're still coming to the meet. Good luck with the Z, they are fun. (Hmmm, an H6, or a 2.2/2.5 in a Z car......) -
My son's re-creation of the MW2 Subaru Meet

That's a riot. There are several moments from that trip that I know will stick with me for years to come. I bet that it was grand adventure for Indy. The toys in the mud is so totally something I would have done too. Ahhh, memories. You're lucky you got a pic of that, Mick. It'll be fun to look at in ten years. -

BTW, A BIG shout out of thanks to Shawn. There's NO way I could have done it, certainly not in one day, without you. You da Man!! -

Sis got a digi cam for X-mas, so I should have some pics up in a day or two. Still figuring out how everything works on it, havent gotten to uploading to the 'puter yet. Worst case, I'm sure we'll get some pics at the meet on the 15th. -
Woo Hoo!!! FINALLY, i'm pimpin a lifted rig. Shawn W. and I installed a 3" PK lift on Saturday. Overall, everything went pretty well. Accidentally split the seam on the gas tank a tiny bit in the process of beating it back to fit the lift block. Minor leak, a sweat, not a drip. Tank sealant seems to have done the trick. Looks sooo good. Got my 14" Pugs sandblasted and freshly painted awaiting 14" Super Swampers. (still a couple months off) Does seem to have excessive positive camber. Normal? (I do still have 13's on it.) Not horrible, but looks, to the eye, to be a bit much. This week is shakedown, and I'll (we'll) go through and tighten everything up again next weekend. Then she'll be ready to have some fun in. I'll be bringing her to the meet Sunday, so the lifted Soobs can represent! :-p

ATTN CO BUMS! Left Hand canyon run SUN

Sorry I missed It. Went to Iowa for the holidays, and got in this morning been asleep all day. I'm interested in part 2, though. -
Doesn't Subaru offer a D/R EJ gearbox over there?

New seat option-saturn donor car!
eyesore replied to ShawnW's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Some of the up-level Saturn seats also have a seat bottom height adjustment. A nice addition for shorter drivers. I also have seats fom an '89 Mistubishi Galant in my other hatch. They are probably nicer seats, but required much more customization to install. The Saturn seats require no cutting of plastic doorsills, etc. Just drill 2 holes. Very easy swap, and much morecomfort than the 80's vintage subie seats. -
Wheelin in Denver this weekend
eyesore replied to eyesore's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Jeff, PM sent. We're looking at leaving my house around 3:00, probably be wheelin by 3:30-45ish? If anyone is still interested...Head east of Tower on Mississippi, look to your left. You will probably see rigs whelin around, but it's just south of the control tower. Very easy to find. -
Wheelin in Denver this weekend
eyesore replied to eyesore's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Yeah, something like that. 1 - 2:00 no real hurry. If people get their axles in before it's tooo terriblylate, and they'd like to go, we can wait. Otherwise, sounds like it's just us, (From the board. My sis is going, maybe some others...) so I'll PM you with my #, and we can work it out Sun. If anyone still wants to go, let me know and I'll post specifics. (or, just show up, and maybe you'll catch us!) -
Wheelin in Denver this weekend
eyesore replied to eyesore's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Well, it's looking like Sunday is going to be best for me anyway, so if that's better you're invited. (RWD throws lotsa mud, and there'll be fullsize rigs to remove anyone stuck.) Anyone else? -
Short notice, but Jeffast123 and I are going for some mild (depending on your rig and the path you take ) wheelin and muddin this weekend. Going to a spot just East of Tower on Mississippi. (Just south of Buckly AFB) I'll be in the Hatch & Jeff in his truck. May also have A fullsize Bronco, possible 89 Sub. Hatch, a 4-Runner,..... Looking for more. You don't have to bring a Subie, but it would be cool to have a couple at least. Time: To be determined. 1:00 ish? I like to sleep late on weekends. Day: TBD, probably saturday. I'll post more specific details later. Still trying to coordinate / confirm with friends.

I still feel badly 'bout that. I shoulda warned you not to necessairily follow me over / through everything. I gotta say though, it was just the approach / departure angles that messed with the X/T. (too much front overhang pushes the radiator in an unfortunately northward trajectory when encountering the bottom of a particularly steep decent. ) Otherwise, it wheeled supurbly. Anybody else wants to come damage their vehicles, I think we're planning on wheelin next weekend !!!
-
If there is no place there, we can definately go somewhere to wheel after the meet. I'm always up for playing in the dirt. As an aside, I found a regulator, so I don't need one now. See everyone tomorrow!
-
Here in Centennial (formerly Littleton. We're upscale now. ) I've still got Eyesore, my '78 wagon. And the '84 Hatch, and just grabbed an 87 Hatch for Mom. Usually I can be seen pimpin around Denver in a White "Kuni Lexus" 'Yota Tundra. Honk if ya see me, I always give old school Subies a thumbs up. (I'll be at the meet too) And I need a Driver's side window regulator for a Hatch (or brat) for all you J/Y scroungers.
-
I'll be there in the Hatch. Do we still need anything? I'll bring whatever I can. I'm also on the lookout for a Hatch/Brat driver's side window regulator. Need one bad, can't roll my window up or down.

quad light upgrade?
eyesore replied to tailgatewagon's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
You can get the proper size housings from JC Whitney for an H-4 headlight conversion. I did this to Eyesore, and am now able to run Sylvania Silverstar H-4 bulbs. The whole deal cost about $75. BIG difference. If you wanted to lay out big $$, you can even do a H.I.D. conversion. For Rallying, and extreme rural areas (like I was in,) I reccommend the H-4 conversion and KC's in concert. (BTW, I've found the $20each Walmart-special 6" spots to work/last quite well. I see no need to spend Hella, KC kind of $$ on lights. My .02) -
I'm in for whatever. Sat is good. Mild wheelin is good.....

I removed my resonator and added a glasspack & side dump exhaust. Sounds wicked, and it actually improved responsiveness, and top end. The stock system really is pretty restrictive on these. (or maybe my stock muffler was plugged?) It's been going 4 years strong till recently when the stock y-pipe cracked.
