  1. I am in Oklahoma, and it is the same thing here, not a Soob in sight, other than mine.
  2. I want to see that. I really enjoyed the $500 commercial, that was me, except mine was free.
  3. I keep a tool full size spare get home pack small work light extra fluids and when I am not going to work: pistol and rifle because you never know. Pistol: either a .357Mag or a .45 Auto. Rifle: usually an SKS, sometimes just a .22 semi-auto.

I am currently looking into getting a portable handheld Ham unit. Haven't had a CB in over 20 years.
  5. GOT IT. It took me all day but, I got it done. I am glad that I have access to a lathe amd mill, or I would still be there. I have read on here that some of you guys use a dremel tool to level the rear of the hub for the lug bolts. It took me most of the day to get it done with a mill, I don't want to know how long it took you with a dremel. They are on and they do not rub. They are about half an inch from the front but, they do clear. I absolutely love the way it looks. The tires really brought the car up. I will post more pics tomorrow, I only tookthis pic after I got the rear done, it was 12:30AM when I finally got finished. Thanks to all of you guys, without you I probably would have junked it 3 years ago. I have never done this much work to any car that I have ever owned. I also have not enjoyed working on a car as much as I do this one. This is just the rear, half way done. By cd45 After installation By cd45
  6. Got the nw wheels yesterday. I am getting the lugs together today, and will probably start putting them on tonight. I measured the tires today, and the new ones are 25" tall, the old ones are 22" tall. How much trouble am I going to have? I know I can knock some fender out of the way at the bottom rear. I hope that is all that I have to do. Here is a pic of them by the car, I will post more pics after installation. By cd45,
  7. I run my 87 gL Wagon without covers. I like the ease of maintenence that this gives me. I drove for 50K before I changed the belts that were on it when i got it. After that, the idler pulley froze up, and I had to replace it. Then the tensioner pulley on the drivers side quit, and I had to replace it. I bought and replaced both, just to be sure. I am looking for another EA82 to rebuild and replace my engine with. It has 220K, and I did not put all of them on it. I can't wait until my taxes come in. New engine for the Wagon and a new tranny for the Brat.
  8. I got the wheels today, hopefully this weekend they will be on. I already predrilled the rear before I put the disk swap on. Now I have to open the holes a little, and then pull the fronts and do them. Thought I would repack the bearing while I was in there. I will take before and after pics but, remember, I have not painted them yet. I think the results will look good with the paint scheme I have on the car.
  9. 5SP D/R if I can get one, 4SP D/R if not, and 4SP S/R if none of the above.
  10. I found out how much I am getting back on my taxes. I get to work today, look at the bulletin board and there is a set of 14" Nissan wheels and tires for sale for $75, and he will deliver. I get them tomorrow. Now I need to find one more for a spare. I will also be going to a JY about two hours away to get another tranny for my Brat, and another engine for my wagon. It looks like everything is going my way finally. Just had to share about the deal on the wheels.
  11. cob, that is very cool. glad that you had a good trip.
  12. Yes, I pulled the line off of the carb and sucked on it, the engine revved up when the back barrel opened up. I don't know if it is working while I am driving though. Really can't feel it, and the car still won't hold 70MPH going uphill.
  13. OK, 1987 GL, 5SP D/R, carbed EA82. In the pic below, the red arrow points to the actuator for the second barrel on the carb. The other end is plugged into the carb itself. I have not really worried about it before but, I don't think the back barrel is working. I don't think there is any vacuum from where the hose is installed. My question is this: Does anyone know what to plug the vacuum line into to get the rear barrel to work as it was supposed to? Thanks.
  14. OK, I was under the impression that the tranny was one piece. I did not know that the bell housing came off separately. I will check on it as soon as the rain stops this afternoon. I plan to pull the engine and do a complete reseal on it, pan, valve covers ETC. I understand all that will be going on, just wanted to see if I could do it, or wait until I found another tranny.
  15. Thanks GD, I went and looked. Now I am back to square one.
  16. Thanks for the info GD, I will probably be doing this soon.
  17. OK, here is where I am. The tranny in my 1984 Brat went out. It was 3AT, and I planned to change it anyway, just not yet. I have a 1980 GL Wagon with a 4SP S/R, that works well. The only real problem with the wagon is that it has no title. It sat for 10 years, and started up the first time I turned it over. It has the EA71 engine, and does not leak oil. I want to pull the tranny and put it in the Brat. Will it work? I know I will have to pull the rear diff, to go with the tranny. Are there going to be any problems that I will have to look out for? I really want to get the Brat back on the road, and this seems to be the quickest, cheapest way to do it. I was looking to get a 5SP D/R but, money is tight right now, and I already have the wagon sitting here doing nothing. Please let me know if I am on the right track.
  18. Cap, rotor, plugs every year. Wires, no, I am running MSD 8.5mm, they have a good life range. Air and fuel filters as called for in the manual. Never got over 26MPG on the hiway, 23-24 everywhere else.
  19. I found an early (1981?) wagon with a 5SP manual tranny. My question is, is it a 4WD or 2WD? I was unable to see the floor, the car is being used as a catch-all and storage building. Under the hood, there was the biggest rats nest that I have ever seen. The front windshield was broke out, and the front seats were absolutely shot. Couldn't tell much else. I just don't remember looking at the rear wheels to see if it was a 4WD or not. I was told that if I wanted it, just to drag it off. There was a good looking (from what I could see) EA81 engine under the hood. Thanks guys.
  20. My rear shocks went out, seals blew on passenger side. I replaced the Monroe's with KYB's. Found out that KYB's are about one inch shorter than the Monroe's. They were a PITA to install. The wagon rides great again. Now I have to do the front.
  21. replace choke with a manual, mine runs much better now. I also know that when I pull the cable, the choke is open, no question.
  22. Thanks for the input. I will forget it, and get a D/R tranny.
  23. Thanks guys, just thought I would check. Will continue the swap.
  24. I am doing this just so I can drive it for a while before the D/R swap. I am doing the swap, just thought I might get to drive it more than I did.
