  1. in the words of Jeff Spicoli, "Awsome, totally awsome!" My NAISOC buddy wants some now too. Hats off to Flappy's -here's to you -
  2. I like it, I like it aaaalot
  3. Ed - I think 405 to 167 down into kent then onto 18 might be the better route. Theres still gonna be back tracking, but I don't think its as far out of the way as going 90 to 18.
  4. Able engines sell reconditioned engines, but I can't remember their site or if they sold the EA81T - heres what I got: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2445813594&indexURL=0&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting Link might not work - try searching for able engines on google or something, I'll help you search later - try archives too. Thats how I found Able. CCR is probably your best choice.
  5. couldn't find anything in archives - I want some good tires for snow for my 1980 BRAT - what do people recomend. Also, How big can I go?
  6. yeah I like how that guy wants $85 bucks for those "rare" 8-spokes that seem in such short supply-? There's another post about what a bad deal those are. And the best part is, one guy is bidding on them.
  7. yeah, carfreak stoll that mag out of his doctor's office - pretty sweet article. And the brat is tight too.
  8. moosens, my Gen1 roll bar is just as you described it
  9. Got the web address for where they're on sale? thanks!
  10. i want it, of only I had already bought a car :eh: But I wouldn't trade the Brat for anything
  11. unless i missed it in one of the posts above, i think we are all missing the best part of a manual - IT'S SO MUCH FUNNER TO DRIVE! (except of course, as caleb has pointed out - in seattle rush hour)
  12. without telling you straight forward, she probably just doesn't want to be seen in what she eyes as an old piece of pooh. You see the car as reliable and...well.. the best there is of course, cause it's a Subaru. But she might be using the "reliability" thing in an effort to get a more modern car that she would feel more comfortable driving for self-esteem reasons. And she probably doesn't want you fiddlin under some other girl's hood, if ya know what what I mean. reliablity wise though, just show her that website, i think its the over 100,000 mile subie club or somethin like that. Its got cars with like 300,000 miles on them. and show her some prices of repair stuff (so cheap!). And besides yourself, all the mechanics you'll ever need are all right here on the board, so there's a huge money saver. Good luck!
  13. garner - I'm planning on swapping an EA81 into my gen 1 brat, and then throwin a weber on it. You have to get the EA81 crossmember otherwise you'll have steering problems (unless you do mudrat's welding procedure). might want to ask him about your problem
  14. A Weber will improve performance and gas mileage and its prob. the easiest good mod
  15. its 30 years in washington i think. I checked it out cause you can get cheaper liscensing, but your car can't be your daily driver. You ahve to keep it under a certain amount of miles per year. Like you're only supposed to be driving it to car shows, or a cruise around town on a sunday.
  16. nice job. You should demand them to pay you for the free advertising you got them.
  17. I opened up the air filter yesterday on my 1980 Brat, and there was oil lining the box and there were globs of oil inside, on top of the filter. What could be the problem?
  18. XSNRG has an 85' turbo wagon with a blown head gasket that he's asking $400.00 for. He's in Olympia. That would be tight.
  19. my webshots are at http://community.webshots.com/user/vonbrat Only a few photos right now, but adding more very soon. Also, there's a link to Carfreak85's subaru and misc. pics. His wagons.
  20. One night the none of the dash lights would turn on in my car, and I tried turning on and off the light, restarting the car, nothing worked, so I started on my way, not being able to see my speed or rpms. Then just for kicks, I decided to give the dash a little Fonzarelli touch, and "BAM" everything turned on after I tapped the dash.
  21. Yeah, we went up to Alpental today in my brat. It was great. I was happy to see the big 4x4's having trouble on the roads. It was so cold and Aaron and Galen (car_freak85) sat in the jumpseats the entire ride up to the pass and back! I was cold in the cabin! I can't even imagine how cold it was in the bed, on the freeway at 70mph! :eh: :santa:
  22. gimme gimme gimme! please here's my email spicoli@nocharge.com :D :D :D :D
