  1. The AUTOMATIC tranny that came with the SVX has many problems. The radiator based cooling system works terribly, and the way it is designed, the lubrication doesn't flow through the tranny very well. Both of these characteristics cause overheating. I don't know if this is the root of your problem, or if it even applies to you, but I hope it helps.
  2. I was wondering if the strutts from an Outback will fit on an SVX, and if not, what should I do to raise my SVX? Thanks
  3. The SVX is known for having a bad tranny. It constantly overheats. The radiator based tranny cooler can't keep it cool. Also, the way the tranny is designed, the lubricant doesn't flow well (also causing overheating).
  4. My father has a 3000 gt vr-4. I have been looking for that alternator, and I just found it. Thanks man!!
  5. Have you ever thought about lifting the SVX? I know that it is a "Sports car" but I think that it would look pretty good lifted with some huge dirt tyres. It would definately be one of a kind!
  6. I wouldn't worry very much about the air bag deploying. It takes quiet an impact with alot of speed to make it deploy. And from what I understand, the wiring is not very simple, so that people can't deactivate them. So, if they deploy, you probably need them.
  7. What you have said is kind of an oxymoron. One of the cheapest ways I know to get power is a cold air intake. This will ruine your gas mileage, and so will any most other hp gaining mods. Looks like you are gonna have to give up on saving the gas for performance, or you could buy a hybrid.
  8. What can I do that is fairly easy and cheap to lighten the extremely heavy SVX? I thought about removing some of the deadning material, but I don't know. Thanks.
  9. I know that most stock boost gauges are not very accurate (at all!!). That new gauge should do you a lot of good and will be a lot safer. What kind of turbo timer are you using??
  10. The power to weight ratio on that thing is 1 hp per four pounds. That would blow your socks right off! Did this company make any more (for sale)??
  11. What if we can't vote Bush, and wouldn't anyway? And what will we do now that W. has already won his second term. I don't want to waste my vote the next time around. Can we see the pictures with no strings attched?
  12. ATV wheels aren't street legal, and definitely not fit for the highway. They might be alright for offroad use, but any amount of measurable pressure or torque could suqash that little ATV rim. Another concern I have is with the lugs not fitting on. The ATV rims are weak enough, drilling larger holes will further weaken the structure.
  13. I wouldn't worry about the rust too much. I have seen cars breaks begin to rust within a few hours on a rainy day. After a couple of hard stops, that rust will be gone. What you need to look out for is a horizontal shake in the entire car when braking (warped rotors), or not being able to stop (worn out pads).
  14. Very few other companies, with the exception of Ruf and a few VW's, have used the horizontally opposed boxer engine. This gives the car(s) a much lower center of gravity and greatly improves performance off and on road. As for the four wheel drive, expierence is key. Subaru has been using all-time 4wd since the 70's, and expierence is key when dealing with 4wd limited slip differentials.
