My new 1977 sport coupe
Man, I just through some starting fluid in and this thing fired right up and purred like a kitten. So I put some air in the tires and took it for a spin around the block. I found a couple of things wrong with it. No 3rd gear & oh ya NO BRAKES!!! I flew right through a stop sign (luckily there were no cars coming). So I continued my journey using the e-brake. The thing ran so good though.

My BRAT Build Up Thread
New gasket, no rust and I didn't do it myself. I bought the windshield from Brain & had M.S. Glass come over and install it. I'll have some photos up this weekend. Lots of them.

My BRAT Build Up Thread
It's alive! I drove it around the other day and guess what. Reverse pops out of gear just like the last transmission before I totally blew it out. I'm really close to having all the interior put back together then I'll snap some more photos. I'm wondering if it isn't a problem with the shift linkage itself or just another bad transmission.

So I pick up a set of rims for the coupe. It's taken me days to get these refinished, but the results should be good. Before: After: Polished the lip and painted the inside gold metallic.

You know I can't keep anything stock:grin:- 1981 BRAT cross member on 1977 coupe frame?
I know, I know... (you old school purest are so particular). I want to go with a complete EA81 drive train. I've got a guy in AUS. that's going to ship me some duel port heads & a duel carb set up for an EA81. So I want to build the crap out of the motor (EA71 pistons, H.P. cam grind...). I'm going to strip the body down to bear metal and straighten out all of the dings and patch in the few small rust areas. I just need to start collecting all of my parts then the build begins.- 1981 BRAT cross member on 1977 coupe frame?
Stage 1- My BRAT Build Up Thread
