  1. Sorry to disappoint all of you, but the real reason was that they had no vehicle that could seat 7 people, and a lot of loyal customers were demanding a seven seater. I think they missed the boat on the styling, but I have talked to several non-Subaru owners who actually like it, so maybe Subaru did hit the market that they were intending to hit. If Brian's therory were to hold true, what was the model before the BRAT. Did it really start with the 360?
  2. If you are driving, you should get there just about the time I get back.
  3. Heck I knew that!!! the hotel address was for the locals down here, just incase they might want to reach me.
  4. I'm staying at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Grapevine, room 928.
  5. OH!!!! You meant to say "Recovery Boiler", I was wondering what a bolier was.
  6. Well, here I am in Dallas (Grapevine) and I'm not surprized that I have not recieved any replies to this post from the locals. Oh well, so much for Southern hospitality.
  7. By this time tomorrow (Sunday 10/2/05) I'll be in Dallas, TX. I posted this awhile ago and was surprized that nobody wanted to meet. I should be able to access the web from my hotel, so I'll be checking back to see if anyone down there is interested.
  8. One type of engine is in all Legacy and the other is in all Imprezas and Foresters. The only thing that I can think of might be the engine wiring harness, I know there is a difference between the Legacys and Imprezas. I can't imagine that there would be a difference in any filters.
  9. I'm getting ready to go to Dallas for a week, so I wouldn't be the best person, maybe PM Ed.
  10. Too bad Austin, the PAP in Lynnwood just got an Impreza in the other day according to Ed.
  11. Gee, what type of aircraft is that?? FHI is part is part of a Japanese group which include MHI and and KHI who build body sections for the Boeing 777. The group is also going to be building the wings for the new 787.
  12. Cheaper is not always better, but here is one thing you need to beware of, stay away from the early 2.5 engines. Looking at your list, I don't believe any of those have that engine in them, the Imprezas will not (only came in the RS). The 95 is a little pricey, wish I could get that much for my 95 (which is not for sale). All those cars would make good transportation, but is there really a need for a wagon?
  13. Now I'm pissed that you weren't home when I stopped by yesterday.
  14. Yes, if they spin the same way, it is a LSD, if they spin opposite, it is an open diff.
  15. Look at my avatar picture.
  16. Gee I wish I was a little farther along with my project, one of which happens to be putting rear discs on my 95 Legacy wagon. The 95 donor wagon has rears discs and ABS. Since the ABS unit is nothing more then a controled master cylinder, just using the brake lines currently on the car will make the rear discs function. You won't have to connect the ABS sensor either.
  17. Thanks, I'm one of those guys who can't leave well enough alone, I'm always trying to figure out ways to improve things (not just cars). I've been amazed with Subarus, there are so many parts that can be interchanged from newer to older cars, that seem like they belong there. An example, Subaru didn't make a two door WRX in 1996, yet when I did my conversion from a 96 Brighton to a WRX Type R, every place where I needed to bolt on something new that wasn't on the Brighton, there was a threaded hole for it, so everything just bolted right in place. Kind of makes me wonder why Subaru didn't make a 2 door WRX in 1996 or 95 (the first year of the 2 door), their first 2 door WRX was 97. When I did my first 5 bolt conversion on an EA82, I couldn't believe how everything bolted in place, as if it was meant to be there. On UltimateRX, the only thing that I had to mod with the rear section of the three piece tranny mount, and all I did there was narrow it, everything bolted right up. I've got a few ideas cooking that I'd love to try, but the wife gets upset whenever I talk about bringing another car around.
  18. Oh yea, that part, you need to replace the tranny side of the XT6 or Legacy axle with the tranny side of the EA81 axle. Again, without actually doing this, but looking at a Legacy axle (bare axle) and an EA81 axle (bare axle) it looks like it can be done. I would suggest that someone try this before going any further.
  19. If those are Gen 2, what is a 85-89 car?? By teh way, it can be done, Qman and I figure out how to do it, but never got around to doing it. It is very similar to the EA82 cars, but you must replace the front strut tops with the ones off the EA81 series car (two bolts, EA81 versus 3 bolts, EA 82). Since you can put EA82 rear discs on an EA81, you can put the rear disc off a XT6 there too.
  20. Well, you must be viewing a different URL then the one you posted because I don't see anywhere where it posts any results from any type of rally.
  21. Gee, I don't understand you're problem, I have rented tow dollies many times for both the Issaquah and the Kirkland U-Haul, without any problems. After I request the reservation on-line, I contact the reservation center to make sure which location they placed teh reservation, then I call that center to make sure that they got the reservation. I have never had to rent a truck, just to get a tow dolly.
  22. Get an EJ22, and put the intake off the EJ18 on the engine, that way you won't have any re-wiring.
  23. Used a big block chevy engine???
  24. Actually I believe from their point of you, if you mod the car, it voids the warrantee, regardless of the fact that the mod didn't cause the damage. The burden of proof is on you, not Subaru.
