  1. Time to bump this, I can't believe there are about 5 people on this board that live in or around Dallas and no replies, could be too far in the future to plan for right now. Where is that Southern hospitality???
  2. I've heard about this car from you before, but looking at the pictures I don't think it is finished. It only has fender flairs on one side. It still looks like a work in progress. Klaus didn't mention a price.
  3. When oil and water are mixed, they form a miky substance. I used to use that water/oil combination on a mill when cutting aluminum. The foam is caused by an air leak into the system. The one thing that can cause this is a blown head gasket, with the damaged part of the head being near an oil passage.
  4. Funny, that was my same impression when I read it. If it is a factory setup and a turbo, but not a RX it will more then likely have a single range 5 speed tranny. It could have a D/R option also, but those are rare unless it is a RX.
  5. Why not just used the coil setup from the EJ22T engine, I did that on a conversion that I did and it worked fine. I created my own bracket for attaching the coil pack.
  6. Vicky, what are you talking about. I have a stock Subaru rear spoiler on my car, it is smaller then later versions. You should see the looks that I get from police, they drive up next to me expecting a young person in the car and are very surpized when they see the gray beard. I usually just wave at them and laugh. To me, any stock Subaru rear spoiler is not 'ricer', but any of those wierd aftermarket wings are. Or is it that you are appologizing for the use of the term 'ricer'?
  7. Ed, I though you were somewhere up on Vancouver Island, you back home so soon? Don't think I'll try cable, too many people in my area using it, besides, I'm only one of two people on the circuit that Verizon has me on, so it never gets slow.
  8. No, but for one of the Cannon Ball run movies, Western Washington University in Bellingham (who was doing research work for Subaru at the time) produced a 4WD Hatch with an EA81 that was turbocharged. It was driven by Jackie Chan in the movie. It is currently under going restoration at WWU.
  9. Well DSL has been restored, may I never have to use dial up again.
  10. I wish that I wasn't too busy with registration to see the show, I'm sure that I missed a lot. I do want the thank Monica for sitting in for me when mother nature called. If I do it again next year, I'm going to want some volunteers to run the registration in shifts, so everyone will have a chance to see the show. Thanks really goes to Ken and Eric for doing all the behind the sceens leg work that brought the show together, without them the show wouldn't have happened. Also like to thank Tex for setting up and maintaining the WCSS 7 web site, that sure made pre-registration easy. And to Richie for taking care of the shirts and handing out the glasses. I'm sure that there were many others in the back ground who help, like Ken's wife who did the registration data cards for the show. To all the helped bring this show off, thanks.
  11. OK, so enlighten me, what STi springs do you have? Are you talking about the current STi (2004 & 5) or STi springs that were made for a GC/GM/GF series Impreza? By the way, GC8 it the model number ofr a JDM WRX, not any model in the USA, but a lot of people here call our cars that, wrongly.
  12. I've got a business conference that I will be attending Oct 3rd to Oct 6th. I'll be arriving on the 2nd and leaving around noon on the 7th. I will have Sunday evening, Monday afternoon and evening, and Thursday afternoon and evening free. If anyone in the area would like to get together, let me know. There is plenty of time to set something up.
  13. You had a timing belt failure on the sedan????
  14. I love it, the guy who bought the engine on ebay paid more then I did for my last WRX front clip with complete drive train. But then I got a great deal on it. I would say the CCR would be the way to go.
  15. Gee Rob, that's funny, you registered as bringing the XT6, maybe that's why the Hatch broke.
  16. Thanks for the comments, but no, I never did think of putting skylights in, nor would I, I need to seal the are a where I will be doing the painting, and skylights would be one more area that I need to worry about.
  17. I'll be on the road at 10 AM today. If got a lot of things to do when I get there. Hopefully we'll have the registration up and running around 5 PM.
  18. Looks like I'm going to be back up on DSL on the 20th, I should be getting my new modem on Monday or Tuesday.
  19. Yahoo Maps states that the distance between Glendive and Bozeman is 360.7 miles, at 60mph that would be 6 hours. From Bozeman, MT to Bothell, WA is 684.5 miles.
  20. Well, I'm a little pissed, the electrical inspector showed up at the house yesterday unannouced, so no one came to the door (wife is a little hard of hearing and with the sewing machine going, probably didn't hear him). Today I'm calling him and asking why he didn't set up an appointed time like ever other inspector that I have dealt with. As for the first project, there are so many I don't know where to start. Last night I changed the wheels on my wifes car and noticed that the wrecked Legacy has rear disc brakes and the driveable one doesn't. I also noticed that the front discs are SMALL. Looks like I'm going to have to put my spare set of JDM WRX brakes on the Legacy. Both the Legacy and the WRX need to be painted and some minor body repairs made. The WRX will be gettting a DCCD and a rear window wiper by the next show, with those items the transformation into a STi Type R will be complete.
  21. Well, depending upon the year and level of the WRX it can have either a 3.90, a 4.11 or a 4.44. All of these can be LSDs, but that doesn't mean that they are. When putting one of these rear diffs in an earlier car, you need to get ahold of the short stub axles that came in the 91 US model Leagacy (Liberty down under) VLSD rear diff, they are held in place with 'C' clips just like the axles on the Imprezas, but allow you to use your orginal rear axles. I think the SVX has these stub axles also, but I'm not sure.
  22. Well either one will pretty much bolt up, the EJ20G (not T) will require a bit more fabrication (rear tranny mount), both will require some re-wiring, the EJ probably more then the EA. But if you are looking for power AND reliability, the EJ20G is the only way to go.
  23. That's too bad, I was hoping to meet the woman who caused Austin to drive all the way to Minnesota for a prom dance, and now has him moving there. Like you say, there is hope for next year.
