Best suspension options for a rally-x Impreza?
Dr. RX replied to EcksJay's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXJamie is a good source for this information, listen to her. But I want to know, are you rallying to win or just to have fun? I know some people who rally-x a basically stock Impreza that are consistantly at the top in run times. Before you get going too crazy on setting up you suspension, learn how to drive (race) with what you have, it will only help you once you get a good suspension under the car, and you'll have fun doing it.

2.5rs dohc heads on ej22t block?
Dr. RX replied to Jerry DeMoss's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe water passages are different, a DOHC head that works is an early JDM EJ20G Legacy engine. The problem with them is the hydraulic valve lash mechanism, the heads that they used on the EJ20G WRX engines are better, but I believe there is a water passage problem wuth them too.

Getting Old
Fugly, I'm on dial-up now. Ed may be right, I got an e-mail from Isomedia telling me that Verizon is having problems disconnecting my DSL, but my DSL should work until the 12th. Do you think I'd be on dial-up if my DSL worked?? DUH!!!! So the long road journey begins.

Getting Old
Ed, your's was Verizon working for Verizon, this is Verizon working for Isomedia. Yep, they can't put in an order until the old one has been disconnected. Isomedia and Verizon have been working together on this one, so I hope it goes smoothly.

Getting Old
I just got an e-mail telling me that sometime tomorrow they will be disconnecting my DSL on the 7th, then my ISP will put in a request for a new DSL with the newer configuration modem. They tell me that it might be up to 10 business days before I have DSL up again. I'm suppose to have a temporary dial-up access, so we'll see if I'm able to getting that connected after the disconnection of the old DSL. Either way I can access the net from work. This may be interesting with the show about a week away.

Windows for the RX: The search continues!
Jerry and Caboobaroo, all 3 door glass is the same, just 86 to 93 (I think that was the last year, maybe 92). There is no difference in the glass between a 3 door RX and a GL 3 door, or any other Subaru EA82 3 door. I also have a counter weighted rear hatch with glass if anyone needs one. You need the counter weighted type for the RX with the rear spoiler.

Brooklyn RallyCross results are posted--Pics added 7/5
Nice going Ed on your first class win, good thing the guy the the Toyota hit those cones. There is something to driving a clean run. Was suprized to see that you were the only Subaru in the class, looks like the other BRAT drivers have moved to different cars and different classes.

96 WRX Emissions Testing in WA (PASSED)
Dr. RX replied to Dr. RX's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWell, in my car there is no place to hook up the OBD II, so they wouldn't see anything, but if it did have it, like it should, the computer would read the ECU and see that it is for a different engine that what is suppose to be in the car. I have heard that some places will end the test right there and fail you, even if the engine passes emissions.

96 WRX Emissions Testing in WA (PASSED)
Dr. RX replied to Dr. RX's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYep, all stock JDM stuff. Yea, it was too bad I had to leave early, I would have like to have seen all those 2 doors.

96 WRX Emissions Testing in WA (PASSED)
Well I took my 96 Impreza Brighton converted to a WRX STi Type R in for it's emissions testing today. I thought that they would use the OBD II for testing since it is a 96 and they had it hanging there, but nope, didn't even move towards it. But they had me worried, because as I was sitting there waiting to move forward, one of the guys was straightening out and coiling up the OBD II cable. Here is the results, HC at cruise, limit 220 PPM, my emissions 45 PPM, at idle, limit 220 PPM, my emissions 64 PPM, for CO, at cruise, limit 1.2 %, my emissions 0 %, at idle, limit 1.2 %, my emissions .19 %. It passed with plenty of room to spare.

Successful RallyX weekend for local Subes
Why not, I think that Subaru still makes the EA81 for some foreign markets. It was available up till 89 in the USA. I guess mid EA81 would be a better term.

5 lug conversion Qs
For the average person, the answer is "No!" The rear suspension on an Impreza is quite a bit different that that of any EA82. Now if you are a master fabricator, you could possibly come up with a way to do it, but at what cost, and would the results be worth the price. I did come up with a way to use early Toyota Supra rear brakes, and Tex actually installed them on a car and had them working. He used a different approach to the e-bake cables that I would have, but by doing it his way, it was easy to convert back to original if needed. Back in the day of the EA82s, only a few people were using them as performance cars, there just wasn't a market for performance parts for them, that is way you won't find anything.

5 lug conversion Qs
No real difference, they will work fine, but I believe the question that I was responding to was what parts off of a XT6.

Show me the MONEY, WCSS 7 Pre-register
Well we are getting closer to the show date, and pre-registration cut off (7/8/05). There are some who have pre registered, but I have not received any money from them. I have tried several times to contact these people, but only Trevor has replied. This is a reminder, that we still need the money if you want the reduced rate. If I don't receive anything by 7/10/05, you will have to pay full price at the gate. If anyone knows anyone on the list below, please let them know about this post and/or that they need to get back to me as soon as possible. John Bloom, Mudrat Charley McGree, Scoobywagon Travis Cooke, Z0rr0 Trevor Hatelt, Vanislru Clayton Burtch, oddcomp Scott Raper, (no board name given)

5 lug conversion Qs
If you go this way, you still need the lower arm, and ball joint from the XT6, then the axles, knuckles and struts from the RWD Impreza, you will likely have to change the strut tops. You will need the XT6 front brake system since they have the e-brake system on them (unless you try the rear e-brake conversion that I came up with, then you can use the Impreza brakes). Also, I forgot to add above, you also need the tie rod ends off the XT6.

Getting Old
Isomedia has a plan that includes the phone line for $49.95, which is about half of what Ed use to pay.
