  1. If it is a black RX, and an automatic, it is not an 87, it would be an 89. 89 is the only year the RX was black and the only year that an automatic tranny was available in a RX. Junkie will probably be running over to see if part are still there.
  2. Nope 4/12, damn near flat. I'm planning to staple the heck out of it.
  3. Yep, I'll probably start putting it on today.
  4. So Ed, why don't you pay one, let me borrow it, then you can figure out where to store it after I am done.
  5. Well, that depends on which Subaru you are putting them on. For my Impreza, I have a set of 16 inch Chevy steel wheels for my snow tire, the only thing that needed to be done to them was enlargen the center hole a little. Heck, they even fit over my 4 pot front brakes.
  6. Well the roof passed inspection (thanks Eric), but the sheaving needs some extra nailing. It seems that I had the pressure too high on the nail gun and buried the nails too deep, the inspector wants them flush with the surface, so I'm going back and adding nails in between the ones that are already there. I also had to get galvanized nails for the lowest nails (mud splash), it seems the chemicals in the pressure treated wood used for the base plates will corrode the normal nails. Anyway, I can put the roofing material on now, and that was the main concern.
  7. Do you have a 40 X 30 foot tarp laying around, I don't.
  8. I use a pneumatic die grinder.
  9. Yea, now you don't, but who knows when you might. Think about it, if you want them, I can bring them fo WCSS7.
  10. Gee, that is where I will be on Friday, but only for a few hours. I like Eric's idea of just putting the paper down until we can get a better date, I'm pretty sure that is what I'm going to do this weekend (if I pass inspection).
  11. Straight??? In relation to what??? You've been on my roof. OK, I'll do that. If I remember correctly, I start at the lower part and go upward so the upper seam overlaps the lower paper, right?? Probably won't get the inspect out until Wednesday or Thursday, Friday I'll got an AM doctor's appointment (an old guy thing), so I probably won't feel like doing anything until Saturday at the earliest.
  12. ????? Most of the diffs that I have converted were EA82s, they all required grinding.
  13. I think I have a set of fairly new Subaru replacement doors (right side) for your wagon, they are sitting around taking up space. You want them for spares??
  14. Man, I need to get that roof on, yesterday it was really raining, so I ran out to the garage to cover some stuff up, it was just as wet inside the garage as outside. Either of you got any hints on installing the composite shingles?? Rob, what about Sunday???
  15. Since I've done this process many times, maybe I can help. I hope this helps.
  16. OK, looks like Saturday the 14th will be the day I put the roofing on, if Zap and Turbone are available, I'd really appreciate that professional assistance.
  17. You are joking right? You do know the 555 is a sponsor for the SWRT (Subaru World Rally Team), right? 555 is a tobacco company.
  18. Could be, I wonder what he is using for a manual. It just seems like the timing isn't quite right, all around, but especially on the right bank (1 and 3). It seems like the valves are still open as the compression stroke is happening. This can happen when the timing in 180 degrees out. It wouldn't be the first time that someone had thought that the belts were correctly installed only to find out that the information that they used to install the belts was incorrect, or not followed correctly.
  19. Sounds like the tool box I carry in the car at all times.
  20. Well if I had the NEW engine, I'd be taking it back to the person that I got it from and ask them why the compression on a brand new engine was so low. But I wish I were there to check this out. Could you humor an old man and tell me exactly how you set the timing on your engine. I want to know where each mark is when you set the belts.
  21. Well, I don't know for sure, but since the camping arrangements are between you and the fairgrounds, I'd say you could get there anytime. But will you be camping in the correct spot? That's a risk you would be taking. I'll let Ken or Eric give you the final word on this. I will probably be there early Friday, hopefully sometime before noon to set up a registration tent where people will come and check in.
  22. Bet he's paying for the trip with the sell of his LSD.
  23. Unless you trailer it, you will have to remove the driveline. With the driveline move, you can move it short distances (less then 100 feet) under it's own power by locking the center diff.
  24. The question is, are the twin turbos going to be that same size as the current single? If so, you will probably experience a loss of power since there would not be enough energy in the engine to turn the turbos. The usual advantage of going to two turbos is to reduce turbo lag. By using two smaller turbos, you reduce the amount of inertia that needs to be overcome, meaning that the turbos will spin up faster. I don't know of anyone who has successfully twin turboed an EA82. Because of the engine compartment layout, it doesn't lend itself to a twin turbo installation.
