Need help with a logo for this year's WCSS
Is there some way to loss the text "WASHINGTON"? I think it is obvious what state is it and seems to clutter up the image. If you can do that, maybe remove the text over the mountains also. Since you don't have the original art work that may be pretty hard to do. Corky

Nice Spanky, but it should be WCSS 7, the 2005 should be in the date below Shelton. And why have just the old Subrau emblem, all Subarus are welcome.

did i see the rare rx 4 door?
Not necessarily true, the 85 and 86 Sedans came in many colors, it wasn't until 87 1/2 that they started making them white. But with the digi dash this is definately not a RX.

Opinion on Legacy for sale in Oklahoma
Dr. RX replied to cd45's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAt least he moved it to the correct Gen, he had it in 'Old Gen' to begin with. Sorry I mis-read your post, but adding a few word might have helped, like "Found a car, I'd like your opinion on, it's a 1992 Legacy, 2WD, auto, MPFI, nice shape, $1500. What do you think?" I don't think I would have mis-read that one. The early Legacys are good cars. The last time I was in Oklahoma it was pretty flat and didn't snow that often so I think a 2WD would be good enough. If maintained properly, the EJ22 will last a long time 200K plus.

legacy gtb turbo probs
Dr. RX replied to scoobyjosh's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYou might want to try a Legacy only site, do a web search. I don't too many of us have even seen one of these in person let alone work on one. I did have one about two years ago, but I never worked on it.

Is this engine saveable?
Hell, the short block that I have for free looks a little better then that, I don't remember it being that badly pitted, but it's free to whoever wants it. It is defiantely a rebuild candidate since it has a bad rod. You want it, you pick it up. Corky.

Wheels for '96 legacy
Dr. RX replied to Jason1976's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI was lead to believe that any Subaru 5X100mm bolt pattern wheel would work, but then I heard about someone having trouble fitting a Forester wheel on an early Legacy. I'll bet that the wheels off your Impreza would work.

RX and NA DR trannies
This is the reason why I would have stayed with the EJ series tranny. True it doesn't have the dual range (I'm still working on that), but it more then makes up for that with teh better torque.

New ride, kept old ride
Dr. RX replied to unobtainium's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXGreat looking ride, but I would agree with Zap, I too prefer the Outback XT. Hey Zap, I like the body style of the 95 to 99 better, and if yoiu stay away from the Outback or GT, you'll get that good old EJ22 (at least in the 95 and 96 model years). Northguy, it is an Impreza sedan Zap is selling, not a Legacy.

RX and NA DR trannies
So the pinion gear of the rear diff has ten teeth and it meshes with either a 37 or 39 tooth ring rear, but the ten tooth pinion gears in the trannies are different enough that a 39 tooth ring gear won't mesh with the ten tooth pinion from a turbo tranny? Well I have change many rear diffs to know that that works, but i have never tried the tranny ring gear, I guess because I consider it such a hassle to take apart. So Noah, what are you after, the gear ratios of the RX tranny in a N/A tranny?

Dr. RX replied to a post in a topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXJamie, I take it the site is not up yet. Great to hear that you will meet Auburn's prices. I just wish that I could get web price when I drop by to pick up parts. You guys are close enough for me to do that.

See Ed how easy it is to post a picture here. I know I've seen a Subaru here on the Plateau with these wheels. Now I'll be on the look out.

welding turbo and air intake on a carb?
If I remember correctly, it has a SU side draft carb on it, and it sucked through the carb.

welding turbo and air intake on a carb?
LPG is not far wrong, the best way to utilize a carb and turbo combo is to have the carb on the suction side of the turbo (draw through), this requires the least bits of modification. You can blow through a carb, but there are more mods required. One way is as suggested, build a box around the carb and pressurize that box with the turbo, Another way is to drill holes at 90 degrees to the trottle shaft into the carb body where the trottle shaft passes through, you will then need to add a small piece of brass tubing to the hole. Now you will have to bleed off some of the pressurized air before the carb and pipe it to those tubes that you have added to each side of the trottle shaft housing. This will pressurize the trottle shaft and will not allow blow by.

I have a prefectly good hood (not a WRX hood) for your car, it is black though, not sure what a good price would be.

'92 dressed for success

its official, I'm retarded
It sound like it might have been wrong parts, but just because you found something that said Nissan on it doesn't mean it is the wrong part. In fact Nissan and Subaru make a lot of parts for each other, I even have some Subaru factory installed Mitsubishi made parts on my Impreza, this is not an uncommon thing with Japanese cars.

Advantages of RX over other models?
Well, that's not exactly what I meant. I meant that I physically wanted to see the tranny so that I could determine what was done.
-
Advantages of RX over other models?
Gee, if I could remember everything that I talked about on this board, it would be a miracle, but I did remember our conversation, I just couldn't remember if that was you or not.

Advantages of RX over other models?
Boy, I'd sure like to see that tranny.

Advantages of RX over other models?
OK, I guess everyone is waiting for me to chime in. Subyrally, I suspect that you have an early RX Sedan 85 or 86, so yes, you would not have the Full Time 4WD D/R tranny with the center locking diff, that was actually an 87 introduction with the RX Coupe. Like other have stated, the RX came with a standard combination of parts that were only optional (some of the parts) on other models. The Full Time 4WD D/R 5speed tranny with the center locking diff was unique to the RX, a S/R center locking 5speed was available on other models. I have heard, but never verified that some of the suspension parts were also unique to the RX, like the rear shocks/struts. The rear sway bar on the GL10 Turbo Wagons were actually bigger then the ones on the RX, but I'm sure that Subaru had their reasons for that. I guess the best advantage that they have over the other models is that Subaru made them special by giving us a road going version of their rally cars, similar to what the WRX is today. You might also want to know that the version that we got here in the USA was actually the second generation of the RX, there was a N/A version before the turbo came along.
