  1. Hey, don't worry guys, like it said, "Short Notice". I was expecting more, but was very greatful for the few that showed. Rob, I have the same home onwers insurance that I had when we tore apart the back deck, it didn't seem to worry you then.
  2. Thanks for all the offers, Dan, Jay and Tex finally showed up. I show Tex and Dan how to make a winch pull up using only a couple of boards, that is how we got the front wall up. We waited for Jay to tackle the back wall, but it was still a little too much, so my wife got a neighbor to help. Both walls are up, now tomorrow I'll try to get the remaining three walls up (yep there are five side to this building). The 30 foot long wall I can do in two sections. I'd also like to thank Zap for offering to help, eventhough he had a very busy family day scheduled.
  3. Thanks Zap, I'll be outside, but will have the cell phone with me.
  4. Come on guys, I could really use the help. Please no surprize visits, I need to know that I have enough people to do the job. Tex is off camping, but he said that he would call on his way back today and see if I still need help, what a guy.
  5. Yea, I saw it in person the other day down a Kikko's in Redmond, it is really nice looking.
  6. You need to convince her that there are a few things that are needed to make the RX even more reliable, like TWE headers, an improved downpipe, a body kit. A five bolt conversion would be cool also. Just tell her that she needs to keep up her image, even while driving in the snow. Go for her vanity, it works every time.
  7. Hey Western Washington people. I need about 5 people (strong people) to help lift two walls tomorrow around noon. It should take less then an hour because the walls (one is now) should be ready by noon on Saturday. Sorry for the late notice, I didn't realize the garage door headers would be so heavy. Call me if yopu have my cell phone number, other wise just reply here and I'll check later tonight and tomorrow morning. Like the old saying, there is no such thing as a free lunch, but if you help, I'll spring for pizzas.
  8. John, go back to the web site where you registered, there is a link there to PayPal.
  9. So, if this is a turbo intake, where are the injector ports?? I don't see them in either picture. They should be visable since they would normally be on the outside of the risers.
  10. Yep same here, you make the choice, then we either buy them or not. By the way, put me down for 2, one with CORKY on it , the other with ANN.
  11. Gee seems like only yesterday that we met at that Texaco gas station on old Hwy 99. I was driving Lewy and you had your green Hatch.
  12. I think that you must use the EJ18 intake manifold though.
  13. I didn't think that they would, but worth the try, thanks.
  14. I think there is a little more then just cutting the key profile. I think the key blank is a little thicker then the older ones so you'll have to grind it thinner once it has been cut.
  15. WOW!!!! No, that doesn't appear to be hydrolock. I'm not sure where a dent in the oil pan would cause this either. It seems like a case of piston failure. Kind of strange how the valves are broken off so far up the stem, it is like they were snapped off when the valves were wide open, but if they were, the piston (or rod and wrist pin in this case) would have been at the bottom of their stroke. I hate to think what the cylinder walls look like.
  16. JF1= Made in Japan G= Impreza C= Sedan 6= 2.5 AWD 7= RS 5= seat belts with driver and passenger air bags 9= check digit Y= year 2000 G= Full Time AWD 5MT 501939= the 1938th Impreza Sedan that year In other word, a 2000 4 door Impreza RS. Hope that helps.
  17. You can't leave the thermostat out, the system will not seal without a thermostat in there. I took an old thermostat and gutted it so that at least the system would seal. A hint about getting rid of the air bubbles. On the thermostat that is a little "one way flow type" wire thing, take a pair of side dykes and cut it off, that will leave a small hole that any air can pass through, this hole must be positioned at the top of the hole for the thermostat.
  18. My vote is for the water pump. I had a similar thing happen with my Legacy, I replaced the water pump and thermostat and the problem went away.
  19. Yea, I had a rear bumper sent from the east coast, the bumper cost $25, the shipping came to over $125. Then to top it off it was the wrong bumper. But that is not the fault of the guy that I got it from, he was told it was a 97-99 rear wagon bumper, and from a distance it does look like one, but once you have the two sitting side by side, you can easily see the difference. Yep, it is the over size charge that will kill you every time.
  20. SPECIAL REQUEST If you register, please use an e-mail address the you check often, I have sent some replies to people who have registered and have not gotten the additional information that I requested back. I am suggesting to Ken and Eric, that if I don't get a reply from the e-mail address sent with the registration, and there has been no money sent, that those people be taken off the list and will have to pay full amount at the gate if they show up.
  21. JDM VINs are different, here's one, GC8-029229, the model code is where the model year is, for this car the model code is GC8C48D, in this case the 'C' between the 8 and the 4 is for 1995 or 1996 (both years were "C" models).
  22. So, you're not going to answer my question?
  23. Ken or Eric, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think people are a little confused with the price of admission to the Show (note the capital bold letter 'S'). I have gotten several registrations with no PayPal or request for mailing address, so I send them a reply asking them how they plan to pay, they usually reply stating that they are not going to show (note the lower case letter 's') their car. For clarification the $11.00 (preregistation cost), or $15.00 (at the gate) is for the West Coast Subaru Show, it doesn't cost anything additional to show your car. So far we have 20 people registered with a total of 36 people coming. Not too bad for this early in the game, I do expect this to pick up toward the end of May, first part of June.
