  1. All the walls are up, tomorrow I'll true them, then start the shiving. Should have everything done by Wednesday night for the trusses on Thursday.
  2. I probably won't need much help until Thursday, the last wall will be going up within an hour after I post this, it is just putting the shiving on and setting the truss clips. Thursday night will be the critical night.
  3. Ann would love to watch the boy, it would make her day. I knew you were in construction, but didn't know exactly what. I'll give you a call when the strusses get here, we can go from there.
  4. So, you weren't worried about stepping on rusted nails??? Yep, the trusses will be delivered Thursday, I need to get them up in place and plywood on them so hopefully I can get the inspector to come by Friday afternoon to buy them off so that I can put the roofing on Saturday and Sunday. It should be sporty, especially since most of you guys will be working on Thursday, should be fun.
  5. I hope for you sake that the guy isn't like some I have dealt with. I am also an antique car nut, I saw an Auburn Supercharger 4 door (the rear doors open from the front, the four doors are the rare ones) sitting in a guys yard, I had seen this car sitting in the same place when I was in high school, and it had been there many year before I saw it. Well when I finally figure I was in a financial position to restore such a car, I went and talked with the guy (this was about 35 years ago). When I asked him if he would sell the car, he said, emphatically, "NO!!!", I asked him what he was planning to do with the car, and his comment was, "Nothing." So there sat this beautiful example of a very rare car, with weeds grow all around, in, and through the car, and he was just going to let it rust away. I couldn't believe it. I drove past the place 5 years later and the car was still there. I was going to watch the obituaries for his death so that I could see if his family would sell the car, but I lost interest over time and moved on with my life, I don't know what ever happened to that car.
  6. Hey, don't worry guys, like it said, "Short Notice". I was expecting more, but was very greatful for the few that showed. Rob, I have the same home onwers insurance that I had when we tore apart the back deck, it didn't seem to worry you then.
  7. Thanks for all the offers, Dan, Jay and Tex finally showed up. I show Tex and Dan how to make a winch pull up using only a couple of boards, that is how we got the front wall up. We waited for Jay to tackle the back wall, but it was still a little too much, so my wife got a neighbor to help. Both walls are up, now tomorrow I'll try to get the remaining three walls up (yep there are five side to this building). The 30 foot long wall I can do in two sections. I'd also like to thank Zap for offering to help, eventhough he had a very busy family day scheduled.
  8. Thanks Zap, I'll be outside, but will have the cell phone with me.
  9. Come on guys, I could really use the help. Please no surprize visits, I need to know that I have enough people to do the job. Tex is off camping, but he said that he would call on his way back today and see if I still need help, what a guy.
  10. Yea, I saw it in person the other day down a Kikko's in Redmond, it is really nice looking.
  11. You need to convince her that there are a few things that are needed to make the RX even more reliable, like TWE headers, an improved downpipe, a body kit. A five bolt conversion would be cool also. Just tell her that she needs to keep up her image, even while driving in the snow. Go for her vanity, it works every time.
  12. Hey Western Washington people. I need about 5 people (strong people) to help lift two walls tomorrow around noon. It should take less then an hour because the walls (one is now) should be ready by noon on Saturday. Sorry for the late notice, I didn't realize the garage door headers would be so heavy. Call me if yopu have my cell phone number, other wise just reply here and I'll check later tonight and tomorrow morning. Like the old saying, there is no such thing as a free lunch, but if you help, I'll spring for pizzas.
  13. John, go back to the web site where you registered, there is a link there to PayPal.
  14. So, if this is a turbo intake, where are the injector ports?? I don't see them in either picture. They should be visable since they would normally be on the outside of the risers.
  15. Yep same here, you make the choice, then we either buy them or not. By the way, put me down for 2, one with CORKY on it , the other with ANN.
  16. Gee seems like only yesterday that we met at that Texaco gas station on old Hwy 99. I was driving Lewy and you had your green Hatch.
  17. I didn't think that they would, but worth the try, thanks.
  18. I think there is a little more then just cutting the key profile. I think the key blank is a little thicker then the older ones so you'll have to grind it thinner once it has been cut.
  19. WOW!!!! No, that doesn't appear to be hydrolock. I'm not sure where a dent in the oil pan would cause this either. It seems like a case of piston failure. Kind of strange how the valves are broken off so far up the stem, it is like they were snapped off when the valves were wide open, but if they were, the piston (or rod and wrist pin in this case) would have been at the bottom of their stroke. I hate to think what the cylinder walls look like.

  21. You can't leave the thermostat out, the system will not seal without a thermostat in there. I took an old thermostat and gutted it so that at least the system would seal. A hint about getting rid of the air bubbles. On the thermostat that is a little "one way flow type" wire thing, take a pair of side dykes and cut it off, that will leave a small hole that any air can pass through, this hole must be positioned at the top of the hole for the thermostat.
  22. My vote is for the water pump. I had a similar thing happen with my Legacy, I replaced the water pump and thermostat and the problem went away.
