  1. Maybe you should try someplace other then NAPA. It has been my experience that when it says 'Hatchback' it is for the EA81 series car, but when is says 'coupe' it is for the EA82 series car. The two door sedan should have been a give-away too, I have no idea which car they are talking about there.
  2. Mark, pictures would help, I'm going to put together a web page that will list all the different parts that can be used in a 4 to 5 bolt conversion, this info would be great for those who choose to go the Impreza or Legacy (Liberty) route. Corky
  3. I was hoping that you would find this. Corky
  4. They kept the WRX away from us for almost 10 years, now you can get a turbo in everything except a B9. Maybe it's coming, but then we'll have to buy new cars instead of making our favorite ones better.
  5. I would think you could get more then 100 of them into a shipping container. Yes the shipping would be cheaper if you can do a whole container. They do have a 20 foot container, so wouldn't have to fill a 40 foot container. If your friend in AU can get ahold of some rear glass for a GC8 Impreza that has a hole for a rear wiper assembly, I know of two people who are looking for them. They would require some better packing if you were shipping them with the trannies. Let us know when you get some idea of prices, I'd hate to have you ship a container load here and find out people think the price is too high.
  6. Well, it look like their Forester has a dual range, here is a link to a web page from Subaru Venezuela, look under the Forester model 2.0X. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=es&u=http://www.subaru.com.ve/&prev=/search%3Fq%3D%2522Subaru%2522%252B%2522Venezuela%2522%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26rls%3DGGLC,GGLC:1969-53,GGLC:en The Outback 2.5i and the Impreza 2.0GX have them also.
  7. Well that sounds interesting, I know that they had them in Japan on the Impreza HX model, heard rumors about them being on some European models, but never thought to look in South America. I'll bet the shipping will be a killer (having worked in the shipping business before). Do you know which car they are on? I believe that they still make an EA81 series car for third world countries, and that they might have the dual range that the dealer is talking about. By the way, as others have said, there is no shift pattern difference, at least in the cars that I drove in Japan and Hong Kong.
  8. I thought you were in Wyoming for school??
  9. Had 2 inches of snow at my place in Sammamish when I got home today. Driving home from work in Everett, the snow got worst the further south that I went, that means that Ken and other must have a bunch of snow. It is still coming down heavy, I wouldn't be surprized if we didn't get at least 6 inches of snow before I got to bed tonight.
  10. I'm sure that Ken and Eric will tell us when the time is ready, so why don't we back off and let them take care of it. When they finally have their fill of putting on these shows, they'll let us know. Then you guys with all the great idea can organize the following show after that and find out just what a pain it is to put on one of these shows.
  11. Not a preserve, these are your words not mine.
  12. Ed, I think that I have a spare radio (Subaru).
  13. If it's a Preserve, are you sure they will allow off roading??? Austin, late July would be too close to WCSS 8, and beside, he said the mud dries up by then.
  14. OK, to answer your question, yes, that statement is bacsically true for years 1995 to 1999, I believe in 2000 there was a body change so I'm not sure if those windows are the same. By the way, there are more differences overall then just the roof line.
  15. Actually I think Sean at RalliTek is the one who is behind organizing the WCSS 8.
  16. Hopefully it is just some kids taking it for a joy ride, and not one of those chop shops with an order to fill. My sister had a plain Jane Nova taken from a pay parking garage, the police found it about a day later, undamaged, just out of gas. I can't believe that they had to pay for the parking to get the car out of the garage. I'll key a lookout while driving through Redmond for you, but I most drive on highways.
  17. Out of all the colors that we paint our airplanes, the one with the most shades is white. I seem to remember something like 3,000 shades of white, so good luck on getting an exact match.
  18. Did you post this on the NASIOC board???
  19. Converting to AWD if you have a on-demand 4WD tranny is just a matter of replacing the tranny. Make sure that the rear differential is the same same the one in that car that the AWD tranny came from. If both come from Turbo cars, they are most likely 3.70 (maybe even LSD). There were AWD trannies in N/A cars, those will have a 3.90 rear diff. Another thing to be aware of is the front axle splines where they attach to the tranny, a turbo will be different from a N/A, so if you have a turbo now, it would be best to get that AWD from a turbo car. TahoeFerrari, the wheel base is that same on all EA82 series cars, sedan, 3dr and wagon. All driveline and suspension parts are interchangeable.
  20. It's all in the VIN, if it is a 56B, it is a RX, if not, it isn't. There were some GL Turbo 3dr in 86 that actually had the 56B in the VIN, I had one, but no where on the car was there any decal stating it was a RX, if it wasn't for very bad cancerous rust, that car would still be around. Some of the aero body kit parts were only available on 87 and on RX 3drs.
