  1. The 15th is a Monday, is that the date you were looking for??
  2. This is from my 4 to 5 conversion page. This is the EA82 series And here is the XT6.
  3. In case you didn't get it, I HATE DIGITAL DASHES!!!!! :temper: First it was the temperature guage, now it is the fuel guage. With a full tank of gas, sometimes it reads empty, somethings 2 bars, somethings 3 bars, something two bars from the top, and it changes every time that I turn the key on. It is a good thing the odometer still works, I know about how far it goes on a tank of gas, so I re-fill when it gets close to that mileage. Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix???
  4. I'm going to be in Montreal, Canada betwen 9/6 to 9/13, so if you get here on either of those weekends, I'll have to make arrangement to pick up the lug nuts from Andy. BTW, anyone on the board live near Montreal??
  5. Do not use XT6 backing plate, the rear rotor on the XT6 is a little larger diameter then the EA82 series rear rotors. Although the rear caliper are the same, is you use that XT6 plates, your pads will not match to the rotor.
  6. Skeet, if you got the bucks, Taps is a great eatery and pub.
  7. I know Skip has, and at least one other board member.
  8. Are you bringing the black lug nuts with you??????
  9. Well, I must have gotten the one set of lower arms that fit without modification. For me, everything bolted up no problem, it was the simplest conversion I have ever done. I was surprized that no one else had done it before.
  10. DUH, I did say to get the ball joint and the lower arm off the XT6.
  11. :banghead: :banghead: Oh yea, I forgot about the lug nuts, lets see, that was $20, correct??? Email me, I believe you have the address.
  12. There is no mention of it on my page because on my car it was the same. It was a straight forward very simple bolt in replacement when I did it. I just looked in my parts book that covers XT6 parts, and the rod is a different part number then the general EA82 series car, but the RX rod is also a different number, and since I used the RX suspension on my car, maybe they are close enough. I'll call you tomorrow (unlimited weekend minutes, sweet). By the way, the knuckle assy is the same part number for the 4WD and 2WD.
  13. Now that I finally have control of my web site again, I was going to update the 4 to 5 conversion page by adding a parts list with Subaru part numbers. I was looking at my XT6 parts book and it doesn't show a part number rear 4WD hub. So I'll list the parts without Subaru part numbers. Another thing, I have found that you can use an Impreza front strut, knuckle, and axle up front. The XT6 front calipers will bolt to that setup. It may be a week before I get the list there, so keep checking back.
  14. Lay down in front of the car, reach up in front of the radiator, you should be able the reach the latching mechanism and pull the level that the cable connected to.
  15. Thanks Ed, looks like there is still some more to the investigation. I hope no one is found to be negligent, if so, then there will be a clear path for a wrongful death lawsuit by the parents.
  16. Rob might be correct, I got a phone call from Ed stating that there was a write up about the findings on the accident at the Lynnwood PAP. The state investigators ruled it an accident, but also gave some more info about the accident that I hadn't heard before. Ed said it was in the Seattle Times, the local section on the second page. I don't get the daily Times, so if someone could look it up and report what it stated there, I'd appreciate it.
  17. Shawn is correct, and there are suppose to be adapters out there, they are just very hard to get ahold of. I have put an EJ20G(turbo) engine and tranny into an 87 RX 3dr (UltimateRX). I also believe that there are about 3 or 4 EJ20G conversions into EA82 series cars running around Australia. As far as a D/R in an EJ series tranny, there is suppose to be such a thing, but I haven't seen one yet, but if anyone can get a part number for one, let me know, I do have a Japanese source.
  18. Setright, well even internationally, the only EJ22 that was DOHC came in the 22B. If I remember correctly all other international EJ engines were either the EJ15, the EJ16, the EJ18, or the EJ20, and only the EJ20 came in a DOHC version as well as a SOHC. There is a possibility of valves hitting on a DOHC engine, but not a chance on a SOHC engine. Here in the USA, over the years we have had the EJ18 SOHC, the EJ20 (DOHC only in WRX), the EJ22 SOHC, and the EJ25 (both DOHC and SOHC). I too consider this board an international board, and appreciate international input, but it helps to know the origin of the person making the request, which is why I ususally check their bios before answering, that way I know where they live and can answer accordingly.
  19. Austin, I'll scan the page out of the FSM and send it to you. Now for the rest of you, with the exception of the B22, how many of you have seen a DOHC EJ22 that came that way from the factory???? This is an American version of the EJ22, and therefore only came as a SOHC version. As far as I know, it is also a clearence engine and therefore nay noise would not be valves hitting the piston.
  20. There is no difference between the XT6 trannys and the EA82 series trannys. The difference is the way it is mounted to the car. Since the XT6 engine is longer, it sits further back and that makes the tranny sit a little further back. To solve this, they came up with a tranny mount the combines the to crossmembers on an EA82 series car. There is a piece the goes between these two crossmember that the tranny actually mounts to. This is almost the same as a Legacy/Impreza tranny mount. The XT6 tranny will use the same mounting points as the EA82 series cars if you are installing it behind an EA82 series engine.
  21. Yea right, your 98 Legacy 5 speed manual tranny had a fuse that when removed gave you only FWD. Well, Bradd old boy, that would be impossible since the 98 Legacy tranny is an AWD tranny and is coupled to the front and rear by a viscous coupler, and nothing electric, it is all mechanical. I'm not saying that your Legacy didn't have the fuse, I'm just saying that there is nothing electrically that connects the two drive axles so removing a fuse would do nothing.
  22. Adam, almost everything you stated was correct, but the fuse thing is for AWD auto trannies, not Fulltime 4WD manual trannies. Bradd, you can not change just the ring gear in a rear diff without some major work. The ring and pinion gears are matched sets. Just find an EA82 turbo and manual tranny, it will have either an open or a LSD 3.70 rear diff.
  23. I quess my questions, "Why???" and will it be functional and if so, what would be the function. I know someone will someday try to get me to eat these words, but I feel if it isn't functional, why add it?
  24. Well, unless the customer recently came forward, no one at PAP knew that, and Mike was the first person on the site after it happened.
