  1. here is a way to check your plugs, wires, cap, coil. start that the disty, check to see if there is spark coming form the cap to the wire, on each cylender by pulling the wire and then start the car so you don't get shocked to ************ trying to pull the wire while the car is running. if there is no spark between the cap an wire, try a differnt cap or check for any damage on the rotor or cap on the inside. do this to all cyclenders and the the way to the plug. hope you can understand what i'm explaing.
  2. got my parts hatch today:banana: . now to swap motors. its an 82 3at fwd. so i found one of the vacume lines that i won't need, should there be more then one? there looks like there is a little differnt wiring harnes on the motor, is there any wiring that i won't need? there will be parts for sale or trade soon. on the donor hatch there is no anti backfire valve, but there is one on my hatch, so should i just lose the one in my hatch. i would like as little amount of vacumes lines.
  3. if i had a switch panel in my car like that my best friend would get in there and start fliping all of them. whats the switch for thats says door? door light of some kind.
  4. i was driving down the road last night when this guy in a u-hual and a car dolley with a good looking wagon on it, and i just hear the gringing noise and i could see the rearend draging on the ground. the guy didn't seem to care the least about the car . what kind of respect for a subaru is that?
  5. well i have flywheel/cluch, starter. see my dad has a hatch that is 3at frontwheel drive. i think its pre 85. my hatch is 4mt d/r. since the motor in my hatch craped out i was thinkg about swapping motors since my dad said i could have it(there may be parts for sale in a little while). i would really like to be able to put my AA lift to use.
  6. gd, what is this feedback you speak of? i'm still new and i haven't played with the ea-81 a whole lot.
  7. i need to know the differnces there could between a ea-81 motor on a frontwheel drive car compared to the motor in my hatch ea-81 4wd. my hatch is 86 and the donor car has front wheel drive, 1985 or older. when i was looking for a carb at the jy the other day they said there was a differnce.
  8. i'm new to building engines. i was wondering what it takes to build a low compression motor. like the ones in the rx's that were release to aus. 7.1 ratio.
  9. the hatch idea. well built ej22, no scoop no fins, stock wheels, beat up body, stock exhaust.
  10. seeing that hatch makes me want to rally my hatch so bad and not lift it.
  11. ok will a shop install a shield that i provide, like one from a jy. provideing that it is not craked or any other way unsafe
  12. any body hear of aaron's recking. there in tacoma. they are suppose to deal only with subaru.
  13. i want an rx. i've have had my eye on one for 3 or 4 years now. i don't think the people want to sell it cause it hasn't moved.
  14. sound like i'm going to do this my self. any window from a ea-82 wagon fit? my jy dosn't have any turbowagons.
  15. i already have the glass out. do i need to remove the old urathane? will a shop in stall a winshield if i have the old one out.
  16. i was thinking about trying nos on the twag. a system call the sneaky pete. its a small can that you hold in your hand and plum it in to your air intake.
  17. i know i have heard someone saying something about replacing a winshield.
  18. well when i run arcross something to sell i will donate.
  19. i need to replace the winshield in my twag do to a peice of sheetrock being drope on in my shop. is these something i could attemp my self? or should i leave it up to the pros and pay the dollar?
  20. i've worked on one of those pickups. there are 4 plugs on the intake side and four on the exshaust side. the four on the exshaust side are for emissions. they are suppose to burn any thing that didn't burn on the firts set. this is what i was told by many people, couple of them had owned these trucks
  21. what can you donate? i would really like to do something for this site. this site has help me so much. if it wasn't for this site i think i would have junked both of my cars.
  22. yeah like most of the people say a bent swing are. i did somthing of the same in my hatch. it was on a mountain road 30 or so miles from my house and put it in the ditch and bent the rear swing are good. junkyard had one for $45. its kind of an easy fix, there being like 4 bolts, brake line, then swap over your brake shoe assembly witch is 3 more bolts. it took my like an hour or so laying on the frozen ground.
  23. i saw this thing that lets you keep your oem water put, and it uses a electric motor that mounts kind of like a alternater and uses a differnt belt. i will spend some time looking for it. if i find it i will post a link.
  24. well i think the morot is going to get a full rebuild, i pulled the motor to do headgaskets. i didn't think much of the oil and water mix sitting in the oil pan so i didn't drain it like i should have, now the crank and connectingrods are rusted to shi*. but the crank spins with a short 3/8 rachet, with little effort.
