  1. Sheesh. I started this thread to ask people to be on the lookout for my car and to call me or the police if they see it. If that happens, I will be grateful. If I end up in court because someone took it upon themselves to exact justice upon a car theif in my name, I will not be grateful. I will be very unhappy. If you see my car, call me or the authorities. Don't attack anyone. I don't care whether you think it's justified or not. I just don't want to be in the middle of a legal battle because of it. If you want to debate what's the appropriate amount of violence to inflict upon a car theif, please do it elsewhere.
  2. I've created a flyer for my Loyale. I mainly put it together for my insurance so I can try to get a decent settlement from them:
  3. I just went out my front door about an hour ago to find that my Loyale is missing. I'm waiting for the police to come take a report. I don't have much hope that anyone from the board will see it, but here are some pictures. ...and there's another picture here. The license plate is 797 SNL If you do see it, please call me at (206) 310-9271. I'm expecting that it will either be found stripped nearby (it was stolen from my house in Burien) or up a logging road, completely trashed.
  4. I just replaced a small hose yesterday that goes from the side of the thermostat housing to the block. The leak wasn't visible at idle, but when I gave it some throttle, the water sprayed out of the bottom of the hose onto the top of the block. If you had a big enough leak in that hose, it could run off the top of the block and look like it's coming from the block itself. I don't know if that's much help, but it's something to check.
  5. We had a ton of fun meeting everyone and playing in the snow. I'm just sorry I didn't get a chance to catch everyone's names. I posted my pictures in the gallery. I also shot a little video, but it'll probably be a couple days before I get a chance to download it, compress it, etc.
  6. I just called the Enumclaw Ranger Station. They will be open on Saturday the 26th from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, so anyone without a permit (including me) will be able to stop by there and get one in the morning. They take cash or check only. Their address is 450 Roosevelt Ave. E. Enumclaw, WA 98022
  7. That's terrible, Ed, but I guess there's a bright side. Better to have it stolen from your driveway than to have it carjacked, but it still must be a terrible feeling. It's probably just some punk kids with nothing better to do.
  8. The Family Truckster was a modified Ford LTD Wagon. They dropped the bumper, covered up the grill, and doubled up on the headlights and tail lights.
  9. Surely I'm not the only one reminded of the Wagon Queen Family Truckster from Vacation.
  10. If it would be easy for someone to pick up a permit for me, that would be great. If not, do I have to head down to a ranger station in that area to pick one up, or is there somewhere in the Seattle area where I can get one?
  11. I wouldn't drive it too much until you figure out and fix the cause of the noise, unless you want this to happen.
  12. I think I can make it. I have new Potenza RE910's on the Loyale. They might be OK, but I'll try to get some snow tires mounted before then.
  13. Thanks! It's stock except for the Pugs and lights. Unfortunately, it has little dents in almost every panel, but the pictures do a good job of hiding them. I got a nice comment on it the other day after a staff meeting when one of our other IT guys drove by in the parking lot and stopped to comment that it looked like a rally car, which I consider a high compliment because he used to race rally cars. Now if I only had time and money to make it perform like a rally car. Oh well. I really enjoy driving it anyway.
  14. Everyone's pictures are great, but I think Subie Gal wins. Here's mine: This is before I put on the Pugs: ...and there are a couple others in the gallery
  15. OK. That gives me hope that I can fix it by finding a connector that I missed while reconnecting everything. Of course that would mean that I made a dumb mistake while reconnecting everything (or not quite everything). Thanks for the quick answer. I love this board.
  16. I'm getting a code 51 on my '92 Loyale. That means that there's always continuity at the switch, right? The reason I'm asking is to be sure that I couldn't have caused the code to show up when I swapped the clutch. If it means that the switch always has continuity, I couldn't have caused it by damaging a wire or leaving a connector disconnected. I suppose I could have made the switch stick on by smashing it under the tranny... Anybody know the fuel economy ramifications of a neutral switch that's always on?
  17. I noticed that. I thought maybe you were blipping the throttle to avoid breaking out, but I guess not.
  18. I'm still reading this thread because it's fun watching everyone get all worked up about it. PERIOD.
  19. Nice work! I didn't think it was anything too terribly serious, since it ran so nice when it started up and only died when it tried to settle into an idle.
  20. In Subarus, a ticking noise coming from the engine indicates that it's running. Seriously, though, here are some threads that might help: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/search.php?searchid=170532
  21. ...yeah... and how come the nose of my stock Loyale doesn't lift up like that when I floor it?
  22. Honda Valkyries have flat 6's, and according to this article, it's a hot-rodded version of the Gold Wing engine.
