  1. Thanks guys. That is the plan then, till I get the Loyale setup. I want to get rid of the smokescreen
  2. Well I finally got off my but and started transfering everything off of my old engine on to my CCR engine. Everything was going fine until I moved the pcv hose and it cracked in half. All of the intake hoses are like this, they are crumbling in my hands. My question is, can I use heater hose of a similar diameter to replace these until I find the proper replacements. I really want to be able to drive this thing when I get the engine in tomorrow. Any help would be appreciated. Dave
  3. From the sound of it all I have to say is who cares. It sounds like a fun little beast. Enjoy it and call it whatever you like.
  4. I had a bad U-joint in my Brat that only made the clunking noise when in 2WD. If it s the U-joint, it is always a good idea to replace both of them. You never know when the other is going to go bad, and they are cheap and relativily easy to do.
  5. I pretty much thought the guy was full of it, but wanted to hear from experience. Thanks guys.
  6. I was going to put my new engine on an engine stand so that I could start putting the accesories on from the old motor. A guy I was talking to said that it would be a bad idea to put an assembled aluminun block engin on a stand. He said that the aluminum isn't strong enough and I would end up cracking the bellhousing. This sounds like a serious load of garbage, but having just dropped a little over a grand on this I just wanted a few opinions.
  7. I use Xandros and your video played just fine for me. If you switch to WMV I won't be able to watch.
  8. Thanks Ed, I did get the tool and just took it out of the box. I tested it and it is the right one. I am gonna flush the heater core along with new t stat and gasket. The engine and Tranny mounts seem to be in really good shape. The CCR engine comes with a good gasket set. I will get your money in the mail on Friday Ed. Thanks again.
  9. I just finished pulling the engine on my 87 wagon, and will be installing a CCR rebuilt one. I have a new clutch kit, new hoses, new belts. Anyone have any suggestions for something I may be missing. I just want to make sure I have everything tip top when I am done here. Will be a few more days before the new engine goes in.Thanks Dave
  10. If you are looking for a rebuilt engine for it, you should contact CCRinc. I just got a rebuilt EA82 for my wagon from them, and they are a delight to deal with. You can get ahold of her by PM. Her board name is CCRinc
  11. Didin't I just give you a Turbo Brat. Now you need more. Check yourself in today, its your only hope.

  13. Well if Qman didn't ban me for flying off the handle last night, I seriously doubt they will send you packin. And to everyone else I might have offended, I am sorry. Dave
  14. I have used oven cleaner to clean engine compartments before installing an engine. It does an amazing job of getting rid of whatever might be caked on there, like oil, grease, and paint. I would never use oven cleaner on an engine though.
  15. What the hell is going on here. you can't put Bible verses in your sig anymore. What limp wristed, left wing, godless, freak did this. Was it that people were offended in massive numbers. Or was it that the right people were offended. What a load of crap.
  16. BF dead blowH If that doesnt work, then I get the BFH
  17. He forgot to put a little wagon out in the middle of the corn field. Who was it who eneded up out there? That is totally priceless

  19. Thanks Emily. I figured it was.
  20. Thanks all. Both cars have ac. I was just curious if the turbo engines had a better pump. Thanks again.
  21. A buddy of mine had a timing belt break on his 85 RX. I have the timing belts from the bad motor that was in my wagon, and they have about 1000 miles on them. Will the timing belts off of an ea82 work on an ea82 turbo motor. And how about the water pump. will it swap
  22. thanks guys. I was trying to get it from under the hood. Shawn thanks for the overly detailed description of a swivel socket.
  23. I am pulling the engine out my wagon to replace it with a CCR rebuilt one. So far everything has been going very smooth. I just need to pull the bell housing bolts and the motor mount bolts. I got the passenger side mount with no trouble but the driver side is being tough. I can't even get a wrench on it. Am I missing something simple here. Please help. Dave
  24. I found a couple of metric sockets and one of those fold up camping shovels in my wagon when I bought it. Definitlely worth a look.
