its a go for saturday evening depart! meeting location is going to be at carter subaru at 545pm saturday, at the oil change department, (carter quicklube) for those who are caravaning the whole way with me... other meeting locations will be (along the way) Zekes drive in (the red caboose along highway 2 before stevens pass, not sure on arrival time, maybe around 7 or 8ish) and of course leavenworth, we will be passing thru- just watch along the main highway for us to pass by! otherwise, get ahold of me before saturday evening! we will be camping till monday morning, maybe even tuesday if weather, and the attendance permits....

just for the record, my wagon (and 2 other ea81 cars with and without webers) I have worked on, have passed fine without the EGR even hooked up. you can block it and still pass the worst of seattle area emissions, webere carb or hitachi. (FYI, my wagon is weber'ed, and it passed just fine)

well, i checked out the area... it is soo nice- lots of room, no pay camping, nice dirt roads and some snow in areas! there is a possibility I can get monday off of work, which will extend the dates to include- saturday evening departure, sunday , monday and tuesday morning (tuesday noon return home) so does that open things up for people?

hey, if you want... I can rope tow with you... and if you dont trust yourself with that, I have a few friends who are good at it (we do it all the time) we will just have to do it on like a sunday.... (my day off on the weekend) do you have a large vehicle with an AT? if not, we can still use a subaru.. it worked for me many times

for those who would like to tag along.. a couple of us are planning to go camping at the old blewett pass highway area, on the days of april 26 to the 28th .. a monday evening depart, (after I get off of work) then a wednesday eve. return (wed and tue are my days off for some reason) the plans for fun are just to enjoy the scenic area of eastern washington, and leavenworth tourism! a little offroad will be involved.. any car can make it, lifted or not... we might go mountain biking too, if the weather and such permit... but otherwise, it will just be a fun social camping/gathering! and a mild hatch patrol "beginner" shakedown (for those who are just becoming part of the fun as well as those who are experienced too) the site i am plannin on, has no hook ups, and no real parking... and if it has not changed sence the last time I was there, there is no fees either (its real woods camping!) so be prepared! (bring your own supplies) anyone interested? if not this time, should we plan another?? (there will be more!) let me know on this post or by email if you want to attend!

I have been to the lynnwood one before too... I agree about the distractions part... but, it wasnt the best I have seen (this is when I was in high school when I went, and the gilrs at my school were much more impressive as far as attractiveness) the food as I remember it, wasnt that great either, thus I have only been there once or twice- it might not help that I am not a "sports" type of person either... on another note, if you go down to Alki beach, or Greenlake on a nice day...

well, also to replace the 85 wagon that blew its head gaskets.... the ea82s are just too touchy to mess with (for my mom who does not take care of cars at all!) so anyways, i picked up this nice 84 GL wagon, 4wd AT.. power steering... same as mentioned above also, emphasis on the good axles, gaskets of a good variety... and other misc. hop ups! I wonder if they can be a seller of lift kits? (ex: PK makes them, sells them to bow wow, and they can sell them to customers who dont like to hassel with "ordering".., or somethign like that) and re-man or new engine parts for older engines- like ea81 longblocks, shortblocks, heads... that sort of thing!

I have a parts car for sale... *hint* (its another 86 brat) and its cheap.... with lots O parts! that is cool! I wish i had a running brat... *sigh*

sounds like a fun trip! too bad I dont know when you will precicely arrive back at the trashwagon (its still in bonners ferry right?) cause I would love to take a trip out there to assist and or view the ressurection of the trashwagon! if its gonna be on a tuesday or wednesday... let me know (or even a sunday works, those are my days off) i May be able to stop over and say hi! (and meet the people that live in that area!) good luck!

well, I just helped Carl retune his hitachi, and the rich/lean adjust is the lower (larger) flat blade screw on the front of the hitachi.... screw in (CW) to lean out, screw out (CCW) to richen it up.

yes i did... I have an ea81 engine. ea81 stock belhousing. ea81 4wd "large" flywheel. ea82 turbo clutch disc (aftermarket, listed as a 88 turbowagon clutch kit) and the ea82 pressure plate from the same kit as the clutch disc (I also tried fitting one at pap when I was doing some mix and match testing..) and I also used the same throwout bearing from the same kit too (ea82 TO bearing) hope this helps...

hmm.. similar thing happened to me.. twice so far... one time, i had to go get the vehicle (which was abandoned) and bring it back home, after assuming it was a done deal and gone... and reciving a parking ticket for it...) then I recently recieved my renewal notice for my 83 wagon (the lifted one with the tow truck lights!!!) and .... well.... i DID sell it about a year ago! I emailed the guy that has it, he said he got it transfered... into a Utah license.. maybe they dont clear up on the WA end if its not done right? anyways... good luck figuring things out

amazing what a little bit of silicone (to reglue manifold gaskets to stop vaccume leaks) and stripping down ALL the emissions hardware can do woohoo! so whens the next hatch patrol /or/ street meet?

well, my car is ready for at least a show... the 4wd system is still being repaired.... (unless I take XT) but the pepperdock sounds like a lot of fun! also, I work on thursday, friday, saturday and mondays.. till about 6pm, so it would have to be in the evenings or on my days off... just let me know!

howabout a pic of the engine as a whole? maybe we can see if the whole thing looks different...

well, i have a few shortblocks (ea81) and I would like to be able to use them again.. but they each have some sort of issue..(blowby, bad bearings) i am guessing that some of these are fixable, but I would like to get an idea on how much it would be to have these remaned (new bearings, seals, rings and cleaned up....) CCR? anyone else? shops? just looking for a good deal/reliable rebuild...

well, after my test run yesterday, doing some urban offroading.... the tranny decided it did not agree with my linkage anymore.... I pushed the lever down to remove it from 4wd Lo, and it went all the way down to the console, but it did not disengage 4wd, so I tried the back up and also the gravel trick,and then later, even the jack up the back of the car and release the tension trick, but the lever is now jammed against the console, and to make it worse, i looked under the car, and it seems to have broken somewhere at the point at which it goes into the car, it is now leaking gear oil from the 4wd selector lever where it goes into the tranny.... oh well i guess... the tranny never shifted well ever sence I got it, so its time for a new one! in the mean time, i need to go remove a rear axle so that I can drive on pavement till i can get it fixed anyone have a known GOOD 5spd d/r 3.9 laying around I could barter for???? please??? (i have some pugs, or other parts too)
