  1. the only realistic option here is to get a new shortblock... (hey, they are only about 60 bucks from PAP!) good luck on this one... if you need help fixing this car or getting a shortblock, give me a PM or email or somethin...
  2. heh! the rough lady (in the parts dept.) at Carter is Lahna, she is mean stuff if you arent nice to her! ( I know, I work with her lol)... BTW, i bought 4 ea81 exaust studs from work, so I know they have them (unless I bought the last 4 lol) and yes, Carter can ship to you!
  3. well, on the way home it was pouring down rain, so the car kinda got washed off anyways, but when i got home and before bed I took the hose to the car and got it more rinsed.... oddcomp- i rememberd you were in that area, but I had no way of getting ahold of you... I think in the spring or summer, we should have a beach get together (liftgate party bbq or something) at longbeach
  4. Dude! sweeeeeeet! that location should be beautiful in the summer! I was in that area passing thru last summer, and there are some cool sites to stop and see- like stonehenge (the washington side, and its a replica of course) and also on the warshington side, there is a spot along side the road (and coulmbia) that is really nice rock climbing.....
  5. heres some of mine.. (just a few of the good ones...) the ones that Craig posted, is my car in the Pacific Ocean!! woohooOo!!! now i need to figure out some anti-rust antidotes! (did anyone mention I am in fact crazy! .) but it was fun! http://usmb.net/gallery/album168
  6. well, see the meet and greet post "attn portland guys" for the details... but if people in that area dont have anything to do tomorrow, or would like to come join us- please do! anyone want me to stop by down there for a visit?
  7. see you guys in portland tomorrow!!
  8. dude! I saw this one too today!!! i got the phone number... looked over the car, it is an 82 GL wagon, and its in fair shape... pug steels and superswampers a weber carb, and custom skid plate... it has a 3 inch lift, but its not a PK lift... (rear end is just clocked down and the front is normal lift blocks)
  9. 86 XT- yes (and I want to remove it when I can find a manual rack for ea82).... 85 gl wagon- yes (and it actually works properly!) 80 wagon- no 86 brat - no
  10. I am 6'2 and I have an XT and GL, and I have fit in every subaru I have owned and then some.... just a matter of personal preference i guess....
  11. take a look at my engine.. it might help a little... http://usmb.net/gallery/album159
  12. not sure myself, but is the tranny computer different? .... just a thought...
  13. hmmm... cool! sounds like its time for Patti and I to make another visit sometime soon
  14. sounds good to me! I just hope that my car wont poop out on the long trip... just discovered today that the left front wheel bearing is going*more* bad- so..... hmm well saturdays coming up, who all will be there for sure? time? do we have a meet time?? and i have no cell phone, so you guys cant leave me high and dry! (someone have a phone # i can call if there is a problem?)
  15. I should be up to play! just give the word-
  16. Patti and I will probably come on down to meet and hang out with you guys and gals again! do you have a for sure time and place now? (need an address to map out on the net cause I have got a long ways to travel out there!) and I dont want to come 300miles to find nobody can make it!
  17. I have an 86 turbo 4wd XT, and so far not too many problems, other than being very sensitive on the cooling... I removed the AC stuff to help simplify the engine compartment, and got it a new raidator, and the fan is running all the time and I am using dex-cool instead of green antifreeze... nothing wrong with my cooling system now.. the sunroof leaks, it drips in the car whenever its raining... really sucks up here in seattle... (but i guess all subaru sunroofs do that lol) the electronics in the car seem to be not quite as good as the older ones.. but maybe thats just mine- (and the weird shaped dash makes aftermarket stereos difficult to install) being that it has one wiper blade, it must be bought OEM at subaru... (tried to find an aftermarket blade.. they dont fit!) I think all 87.5 and up XTs have the auto retard-tract seatbelts... they usually spaz out and stop working eventually from what I have seen... air struts.... they are either good or bad... if they are in that model. thats all i can think of for the time- they are very fun to drive though!
  18. I happen to know that Carter has at least one of the OEM decals in stock...(the ea82 style) I put it in its little bin when i was putting stock away.... should be around or under the $10 mark.....
  19. the throttle cable setup is something i have wanted to fix ever sence i put it in the car... i am not sure exactly how to do it... or at least I cant find the right parts to do it! maybe next time we meet up, i can see how you bolted yours on (and find out which hitachi setup you used and where you bolted it)
  20. well, i took a few pics of my weber and it's plumbing setup... the PCV system in specific- i have seen a lot of people asking how to do it, and the pictures seem to be better than a thousand words... so heres the link to my ea81 setup! (seems to be the best setup i have found for the ea81, and maybe even for the ea82 with webers) http://usmb.net/gallery/album159 someone should add this to the USRM? hope this helps people out! the checklist of the only things you need hooked up on your engine-(and it will pass emissions this way too!) -brake booster -disty advance -defrost flapper hose (goes to firewall) -PCV hoses L and R ignition power and the usual stuff is all you need!
  21. what gas are you running? I used to use arco crap in my 83 wagon, and i couldnt exceed the 3500 mark either- then i switched to real gas (texaco, cheveron, 76, etc...) and it ran fine after that- the car just couldnt handle the water in the gas! just my thought... and an easy fix! (try octane boost or some high octane gas, like 110 or something!
  22. this is going to have to be first come first serve basis- cash money please!
  23. sorry, i need to make my post more clear... I am keeping the alloys- however, i have a set of 390mm alloys that look exactly like the 15" alloys in the pic, that I will give away for free (have 4 of them)the tires are bald but hold air i have no extra 14 alloys the ones i am selling are the 14" steels- i have one set of the large hole ones, and a set of the funky hole ones (4ea) so i have a total of 8 wheels to sell...
  24. http://usmb.net/gallery/album163 here is some pics of pugs that I have....
  25. Woohoo! score at PAP again! picked up 5 alloy 14"s with usable tires. (Although mismatched) anyone local looking to buy some pug steel 14s? ive got a few -sets- in stock.....
