  1. i also had dex cool (not sure what brand) in my XT... then the waterpump blew up.. and a few more gaskets.... then i switched back to green... and viola! no more leaks! (and I also had to reseal the whole engine... and flush... and... yeah!)
  2. if its sunday monday, i have those off!! and then the following tues and wed!!!! :-D i could possibly play for a bit :-D we will see when the day approaches...
  3. I will join up with the early crew at erics.... with a nifty suprise for the locals....
  4. Ohh! i know.... talk to me about it at work!
  5. i am in... might be alone, might have a passenger.. dont know which car or car(s) i am taking... but I will be there one way or another! (joining the caravan at southcenter)
  6. I am not 100% sure whats gonna happen.. but count me in on that one....
  7. there are a bunch... 2 favorite spots, is Evans creek near Mt Rainer, or Reiters up north near gold bar... I plan to lead or attend a bunch of trips up to these places once I get my wagon back home and running there are many more... the hatch patrol visits and explores them throuought the year... form a group! we will go play!
  8. after you salvage the good stuff.... the scrap aluminum can be takent to a recycle yard... they usually pay decent amounts for "clean" aluminum...
  9. I would have to put my vote in for the 83 GL 4wd 4spd wagon!!! my favorite, which was also my first subaru, and i had a second like it.. (the blue wagon with the tow truck lights) and those 2 wagons had been thru the most with me with the least trouble if i was to buy another old subaru for a driver... it would most likely be an 83 wagon! (white with blue interior!)
  10. heh... I have a boat I have been waiting to work on, and had plans to use an ea81, self contained.. with an inboard... I have the hull (fiberglass) ready to begin construction for the motormounts... probably going to use an old ea81 Xmember.... anyways... if you need a boat hull that would be perfect for the job, I have one.. (i am short on money and space, so I could give up this project.... ) and it comes with a trailer too! good luck on the project though
  11. Oohh... I should make sure I get fri and sat off of work!!!! if I get those days free.. then I am in! still not sure if I am taking 2 cars or one.... or for that matter, which ones...
  12. I used to own one.. the one I had was a 69 or 70 (dont remember the actual prod. date..) but it was yellow with red bumpers, and had purple/blue/white flames on it!... i am sooo looking for my old one, wish I had never let my dad sell it, it was soo close to drivable!
  13. I have '90 legacy seats in my '80 GL wagon... its a tight fit, but it works! you need to just make screw plates for the seat rails.. cause the ea81 seat rails will mount the legacy seats (no mods to the floor of the car, only the seat) if you can get the rails on the seats (i stood the ea and legacy seats next to eachother on the gound and measured where the holes needed to be drilled in the bottom of the seats and rails)
  14. Ive got mine ... just recently up and running too! check the post about it to see pics and mods done to it 86 4wd turbo pushbutton 5spd!
  15. I would like to have come to the next rallyX, but I am actually heading to Wisconson on the 19th (but previous days are needed for packing and stuff) and I wont be back till the 24th (my birthday!!!!!) but yes.. its almost time for me to go to my first rallyX!!! people beware!
  16. hmm... so the type of flow meter at the intake shouldnt effect my accel much, but the exhaust should... hmm... need to straight pipe it! and TI cold air it? i really need to intercool it! anyone have an intercooler for sale?
  17. I am not sure, but it has something to do with the EGR system... i usually remove these parts and plug all the holes on the manifold where it came out at
  18. for a while now, my XT has been without its engine.. but its all back together, and I have some other things that I have done to it, besides the engine reseal -engine reseal and complete cleaning- -removed timing belt covers- -removed PS pump, lines and bracket- -swapped PS rack with a manual rack from a carbed sedan- -removed AC pump, cooler, bracket, and lines- -installed new front brake pads (OEM) and flushed brake fluid, turned rotors- -installed rear height adjustable struts, max height adjust- (brings up the rear of car to match front) -going to install new rear diff... mine is toast!- -installed newish-used toyo winter traction tires for ultimate rallyX traction- more stuff to come! pics here-
  19. I talked to Danbob99 about his turbowagon today, and he noticed that (when compared) his wagon has a non flapper MAF, and my XT has the flapper type.. My XT also seems to not rev up as fast, could this be why? and If so, can I swap out my MAF for the other style? or is that gonna throw the computer off? thanks for any input!
  20. heading past eugene by any chance? I am gonna go get a tranny mount from corky that needs to be taken to my wagon :-D
  21. connie actually was the most recent owner, but yes, jason was the one who modd'ed it up... and that is a welded rear !~ for anyone thats interested, it has a working ea81 4spd D/R in it...
  22. I am back in busness once again, after going for a couple months without a car! I finished resealing and installing the XT's engine, so now its running! I have modified the following... no timing belt covers removed power steering pump, lines and bracket.... removed all A/C related things... installed alternator-only bracket... discovered that my downpipe is catless! (someone elses custom job!) I need a new after-dowipe... hey john, want to help me make a straightpipe? and a few more mods on the way... but for now, its running!!
  23. here is a pic of the engine without the belt covers on, or the alt... i still need to find a non AC, non PS alt bracket for it... the motor is now in the car!!! soon to be tested!
  24. thanks for the opinions guys! I will run without covers for now and see how this will do... it certainly looks cool... and definately makes adjusting/changing belts easier! (if i leave them open, i will just carry spare belts with me all the time, so if it does break.. give me about 20 mins  might try to get a pic of the engine up here....
