  1. a pee ho is my term for a P.O. a probation officer she always wants me to pee in cups and i don't like her
  2. i looked and didn't find much of anything. i'm looking for a site that is broken down by state. Any good sites, lemme know. I need to find something more challenging in my area.
  3. not really an update, but i just remembered that i broke a vacuum connection next to the t-stat. it is a little piece of plastic that a hose hooks to from the canister up front. the thing i broke is behind the t-stat housing. could this be causing any of my problems? i figure i might as well ask. tahnks brudda.
  4. Dave.......... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . YOU suck! just kidding, i'm pretty easily entertained sometimes.
  5. i have a cup holder screwed into the dash. also, if you had the dual range, you can hold a smaller size drink between the 4x stick, the e-brake, and the front of the console. this is gl so i'm not sure about the console. gl-10 or XT seats are the way to go. i just put on an "racing style" seat cover. they are pretty comfy but the seats mentioned would be much better. i don't have larger tires but i still 4 wheel. i would rig up skid plates everywhere that could get hit by rocks or other debris. definitely protect the diffs and the driveline. you'll need protection under the engine too. just experiment. you can't really overprotect the underside. i noticed that you swapped D/R for S/R. Why? Was the D/R shot?
  6. mine sounds like a swiss watch. too bad it doesn't run like one.
  7. i had the sublimejoint logo painted on the inside of the "chicken coop" homemade plywood camper on a custom Mazda B2000. I want it on the outside of my soob but i don't want the attention from law enforcement. Right now on the soob i have "Runs Great" on the hood from the dealer's paint marker. I'm never gonna take it off. This way people see how ugly it is but it's justified because it runs good. paint them soobies!! i figure if it's too ugly/beat up to paint, mural it and cover it with a clear coat. It adds good looks just like a paint job, but it is way cheaper and more personal.
  8. I'd heard of thermostats being shot out of the box, but of course, didn't think to check mine first. I was in a big hurry. I had 15 minutes to replace the thermo and fill w/coolant then head off to see my Pee Ho. I put it in correctly though. I'm sure of that. The thermo was working, i think. I'm not really sure if it's working or not anymore. All i know is that for a couple of days it seemed to function. It's a 180 and i noticed the temp change and it ran very stable. maybe the temp. sensor for my elec fan is broken. I don't really know when my mechanical fan spins, but i know that it's not all the time. I'll check the water pump tomorrow and see if it's spinnin. Can you buy a rebuild kit for these or do you have to buy them new? a little jamaican: tahnks bohz
  9. most of you know about my bad over heat. well, i replaced the thermostat and all was good. i was driving it this evenig and it started to overheat again. i only have the mech. fan on right now. it was not spinning, i can hear it screamin like a turbo when it is working. it overheated some more, but this time, the engine was hot and the radiator was not. i think it is either a bad thermo that i bought or my water pump gome south for the winter. i'll probably have to chech the thermo in some boiling water and see where that takes me. how can i tell if it is the water pump? and would a thermostat go bad if it was uncovered no coolant on it)? i need to fix this problem before i blow up my damn engine. i don't haver the $1900 for this cherry 89 wagon w/73k on it. it is perfectly clean and undamaged inside and out. runs like a naked banshee too. i really want the xt6 though. $2400. i hardly have 1/100 of this amount:boohoo:
  10. i'll look through my .pdf manual. thanks anyways man.
  11. ridiculously stupid question: what do the injectors look like? what are they next to?
  12. can't remeber how to easily tell the difference. anybody?
  13. i had a simmilar situation involving a ford. we had a new rotor put in the ranger and i guess it was a hair slimmer than stock. the mechanic we took it to torqued the lugnuts to specs, but instead of the lugnut being fully seated, it was all the way against the top of the lug. closed lugnuts. so when everything was torqued to spec, it was only holding like halfway. well my mom was on a luckily low speed turn and the wheel fell off. the lugnuts pulled through. i went and talked to the mechanic who said it wasn't his fault! i beat his rump roast and then he fixed it. assault charges though. i got away with it because he started it and i only hit him 3 times. the reason that i was so pissed was the fact that she was on her way to go up the mountain to go skiing. careful w/those lugs fellas.
  14. i'm almost scared to rip into my engine. a mechanic friend told me not to bother with the whole head set because i will inevitably find a whole lot wrong with it.
  15. what about gaskets and whatnot? i heard about head gaskets blowing.
  16. i had an EXTREME overheat, above the max on the guage, and was wondering what kind of damage could have been done. i know these little alluminum engines can't take she-aight for heat. what should i look at?
  17. i can't seem to get the damn distributor rotor off. the new one seems like it just slides on, but the old one won't slide off.:cornfuzz:
  18. too late. on both accounts. i didn't boil it, but i KNOW that it is opening. the old one was stuck closed and the engine would overheat big time. since the new "aftermarket" t-stat (non-OEM) my temerature runs more stable at about 3/8 up the guage. it seems to be doing fine with the non-soob part. wish me luck. thanks for the tips.
  19. thanks for the heads up. i knew anti-freeze was deadly but i have no pets. made me remember the wildlife though. i'll definitely hose it off. gotta help keep wyoming beatiful.
  20. got the new t-stat put in and it runs at about 3/8 up the guage. i lost considerable compression and i think for sure i blew a head gasket. i'll get around to that when i find a garage or warm weather. it was just the t-stat though. stuck closed. i put it in a pan of boiling water and it remained closed. i'm loosing coolant somewhere though. i broke a plastic piece next to the t-stat housing that is involved with vacuum. i'll just go to the boneyard, they're just giving stuff away there!!!
  21. trashwagon? is you saw the pics there would be no question in your mind. the last owner of my car was a wiring "pro" too. radiator? i don't need a radiator. wuteva:drunk:
  22. what fuse goes to the dashlight on an 88 gl? i just can't seem to find it. i feel like an idiot for asking, but i need to see how fast i'm going at night. thanks
