  1. Hi, I am new to the forum but hope I can get some help and also help out. I want to swap manual seats for power heated ones in a 2000 legacy L. I already know 2000 to 2004 are interchangeable. I also know the fancier seats are in Outbacks. OK. To put LL Bean leather power seats from a 2003 outback into the 2000 Legacy is easy. You may have to change the seat belt receptacle but other wise the bolts are the same everything goes right in. In the 2000 Legacy I have the line for the power seat is right there under the driver's seat. OK so far. But it has no power. When I looked at a 2001 outback with a power seat there were no extra fuses but I think an extra circuit breaker or some such creature under the left dash. Where is the end of this seat power cable and are the input lines for the circuit breaker under the dash? Also for the seat heaters the situation is similar. No power lines, but if you take out the switches and cable from the Outback you have what you need and again there seems to be an another circuit breaker under the dash that I need to hook up to. Any suggestions and info will be greatly appreciated. If, no when I get this working I will let you all know how to do it. Thanks, Ken
  2. Hi All. Simple inquiry. Our 2005 and 2012 Outbacks each have the 6 cylinder engine. Each car is over 100,000 miles. I use the Valvoline high mileage synthetic blend motor oil, 5W-30. One reason I use this is because I can run the exact same oil in our 1995 Chevy van - so I only have to stock one kind of oil in the garage. I can also purchase it easily nationwide. My wife puts a lot of highway miles on the 2012, but the 2005 only does about 8-10K per year. So, how often would you change oil ? Thanks for the ideas. C
  3. Hi All, We've just created an in-depth tutorial on changing the oil on your EJ201 2007 Subaru Impreza. We thought the members of USMB would find it useful. Tools Required Socket Set Flathead Screwdriver (To remove clips) Trolley Jack and Axle Stands Oil Pan See the guide in full here!
  4. Hello I am a newbie that loves working on his new 1985 Subaru GL Wagon. I am wondering if any of you can tell me how hard it is or if there are any special tricks to changing a water pump. The Mechanic I took it to said it was leaking in multiple places and was wanted 450 to change it. Considering I bought it for $500 I figure I should do it myself. If you have any info on changing the pump, or any manuals for the 85 GL it would be hugely appreciated. Thank you, Dewey
