Need a peek at an old shock absorber.

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a Gen 1 car , wagon or BRAT with the "ORIGINAL" rear shocks on it? They were made byTokico and have the Subaru stamp on them. It is on the top section of the shock. You can turn it with your had to locate the stampings.

I need the part #s marked on the shocks. If you get a chance to look, I would appreciate knowing what is marked on the shock.

Thanks!

my shocks are stamped " subaru 621003620"

but they have the kyb name on them

i just went and found some red ryders that had the right ends and they gave me more travel

I will take a look at mine when it stops raining, I doubt they've ever been replaced.

and I'll check the ones at the workshop later if I have the energy.

I finally looked at mine (sorry it took me so long), but they state that they're "made in the USA", which doesn't help much. I tried.

I just changed the rear shocks this morning on the '86 Brat I bought from The Subaru Junkie. the old ones appear to be originals. Even have some of the dealar undercoating spray on them. They are labled:

SUBARU

721022980

TOKICO

JAPAN

well....... you said wagons and brats........

does this have to be a 4wd vehicle, beause i have a line on a couple (2wd) '79 coupes with the original shocks plus a '78 4wd wagon w/ original shocks.i could get #s for you.
