April 20, 201015 yr I was poking around today looking for a 4X140 miracle and came across this link: http://www.tradekey.com/selloffer_view/id/4303078.htm Looks like someone is still making pug replacement wheels (14-inch, not 15-inch). Wonder if there is a US distributor for them...? -Ben
April 22, 201015 yr Chinese tires are questionable at best, but you can buy them anywhere tires are sold. Those rims are from a chinese company with no us distributors. I wouldn't trust my life on them when quality 14 and 15" wheels are readily available. For looks you can have your hubs drilled out so it looks normal/nice.
April 22, 201015 yr Importing those would probably cost more than machine work to drill rims or hubs, and the safety issue IS a bit of a wild card. China does make their own cars and such though. I'd try to get them spec'd out if you get some, to make sure they're safe... it's your money
April 22, 201015 yr Has anyone found out what they would cost? Off road, slow speeds they may work fine? No doubt they are not DOT approved.
April 22, 201015 yr when i think of Chinese made car parts I always remind myself of how crap they are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kQGAK550LE They dont build a dang thing to last, or that is safe.EVER. period.

April 24, 201015 yr I agree................ Jeff I love how most of the car is a crumple zone for the trunk !
April 27, 201015 yr Author Between the lines in my original post was the assumption that if there was a US distributor, that they would be DOT certified (don't know if that is a requirement, but I'd like to think it would be). Definitely would never recommend wheeling on sub-par rims. I'd have to agree that a car would not crumple like that with an engine in it. A big block of steel like that doesn't magically disappear.
April 27, 201015 yr point is, we have been looking for unicorns for years.you ar3 not he first to come across somehting like this.nor will you be the last.thanks for trying......but it is what it is.6 lug rims are your friend after a good drilling...cheers, brian
