January 18, 201214 yr NED and I love the snow. FINALLY got some in Hillsboro Oregon. I have to say, it really is so much fun to drift around the neighborhoods and feel in control and safe. Went out later, no more snow, but there were a few cars in the ditch with "Dont tow me!" signs. Before warm-up After some drifting:

January 18, 201214 yr Yep. The ground was bare 2 days ago. Now Ive got 10 inches, with another 8-10 on the way!!
January 19, 201214 yr From Lolo Pass today. This was still making progress (about 3/4 of a mile after this it all went wrong) after what turned out to be a bad choice to camp up there overnight last night, I knew it was, and broke one of my own rules on trusting conditions. It was awesome powder all night, but poured rain this morning. I've ended up with a blown up transmission (the 5speed HAS to go in now). And a $400 bill from a snowcat driver for a recovery after getting into a spot that was just thick icy slush in an off camber uphill corner. It was getting dark, my boots were filled with water, so it was time to hike out and get help. Still had fun though. And I now know my winch works pretty good as long as the trees are close by. Spent a good 12 hours on getting my Soob about 3 miles down the road. I'm done with snow until 2013.

January 20, 201214 yr Had some fun today! Just went to a parking lot and played around, but better than sitting on my rump roast on the couch all day!
January 20, 201214 yr Author As it sits tonight. brrrr. Have had a blast these last few days, tore up the city pretty good, lots of donuts around those yellow islands on back street intersections. Pulled 4 people out with my truck today. Amazing how easily it drags them, even with all four tires on ice, going up a slight hill

January 21, 201214 yr Hope you guys like lots of pictures. Its been a very eventful past couple days: Wednesday I went boarding with my dad up to Crystal Mountain in the family Loyale. What I woke up to in the morning (no snow the night before) Hwy 410 On the slopes Pops Myself The camera had a hard time focusing in the dark on the way home. The antenna, once we arrived home. More snow was waiting for us when we got home.
