Sadly, not. But I don't think they used the 1.59 low range anyway except for the 1.8L models.

I dunno if they sold those in Latin America or not.

Here in Norway, I believe every MT Legacy except the 2.0 turbo of 1. gen., had low range as standard equipment... I'm not sure though, but every Norwegian Legacy and Forester I've seen (except the turbos) were equipped with low range... even the imports from Germany....

So the Legacy has never been optioned with dual range in the US?

 

 

The Main Reason is Taxations and Legal Regulations... Later Subaru Loyales where classified as Light Trucks in USA, then Subaru Removed the Dual Range just for the USA market only... as Far as I Know.
