Here in Norway, I believe every MT Legacy except the 2.0 turbo of 1. gen., had low range as standard equipment... I'm not sure though, but every Norwegian Legacy and Forester I've seen (except the turbos) were equipped with low range... even the imports from Germany....
April 10, 201213 yr So the Legacy has never been optioned with dual range in the US? The Main Reason is Taxations and Legal Regulations... Later Subaru Loyales where classified as Light Trucks in USA, then Subaru Removed the Dual Range just for the USA market only... as Far as I Know. Kind Regards.

May 3, 201213 yr My favorite car to date... I totaled her December 5th. Rolled her off into a ditch, destroyed it. My favorite pic from her windshield... this turned out to be one of the worst floods Knoxville had ever seen. In all her glory.
