check it out guys! drilled the rims and mounted them, used an old brake drum as a guide had to mount the ones on the rear inside out to clear everything, so i turned the front ones inside out too jus

You convinced me to get a brat sir

well, i fixed the mounting points on the strut hats (they were super thin) but i dont think im going to be able to fix the camber problem without building completely new top hats. they seem like they are at a pretty good angle (~17) but i guess its not enough. anyway, since im extremely poor right now and cant afford new shocks of the right length, i just made extensions for the original shocks (they are still good) out of a nut, some rebar, and a bolt. we'll see if that works haha

so i finally got all the stuff i ordered. valve cover gaskets, main power switch, and push button for the starter. today i started building a steel plate that will go over part of my dash to mount all the switches to. (see pics) i think its turning out pretty sweet, it will be painted the same green as the body. im going to have quite a few switches in there, coil, fuel pump, lights, etc. tomorrow i will get the valve cover gaskets in and the dash wrapped up, then take her for a spin! :)

finished up the switch panel today! i think it looks pretty sweet! the main power switch and the starter button are good, but the 8 toggle switches are going to need replaced, i bought cheap ones and it turns out they are complete crap. so i wont have this panel wired in for a while, but as soon as i can get some good switches it will be in use :) the key is still hooked up so it will still run. also i moved the mounting points on the strut hats as much as possible, and it fixed the camber as much as its going to get. to me, thats an acceptable amount. also, i wont be keeping a strut setup anyway. this summer when i have a job i will get some coilovers for it, so when i build the mounting points i will fix the camber. im thinking ea82 coilovers might be strong enough? if not i might go dual ea82 coilovers or dual vw coilovers. but anyway its good enough for now. oh also i built a plate to cover the ash tray hole, and a plate to cover the glove box hole, which i will be cutting a hole in so i can mount the radio there.

If you don't care about looks house light switches work perfect and are only $0.30.Both a house switch and the automotive switches will get ruined after mud and water get to them… just house switches are way cheaper. You can also paint the white part of the switch to better match, green or black or…

are you sure that your front strut lift blocks arn't on backwards? The lift should correct for camber when its installed not give you a ton of positive camber. Then again my hatch ran full Dorifto negative camber on the front...

alright guys... i paint the rest of the brat this weekend! :) also... just so you aren't bored... who thinks i should talk to the guy who owns this wedge and see if i can save it? looks really solid! and at least around here, you don't see too many black ones...

At the very least; get it for the 5 lug stuff, if not a good running wedge.

Back when I was looking at another Subaru to get, a wedge was my 1st choice. Xt4 or Xt6. There have been 3 on CL down here in the past 4 years. Not so rare up north, but non existent down here. Go for it!
