MPFI EA81?  I have been gathering parts for a similar "EA81T" build. I have two blocks going together now.

Bike carbs.

I got the second head welded up today and made a start on the manifold.

I'll need to relocate the battery but other than that it should all fit in nicely.

hello,

You beleave that these modifification could be done on the EA 71,EA 61 and EA 63 heads, too?

You are thinking to weld,on the heads, alloy tubes?

The angle of the welded alloy tubes it is important for the easy change of the spark plugs

This won't work on EA61 or EA63 as the inlet and exhaut valves are around the other way.

^ The "elusive" dual port EA81s heads - you need a matching cam to run with these heads!

Cheers

Yep, but thought it worth while for the "sake" of others - they're not just a simple bolt on upgrade ;)

pics there above at #16 speak a few words, if you need more room to work with try the smaller hex plugs NGK's BCP6ES ? with the C being smaller hex that uses the slimmer 5/8" plug socket ?

Is it possible to bolt, directly, the EA81 heads on the EA71 block????

I saw some picture with some EA81 engine with EFI(MPi) system(with 4 separate fuel injectors).

Is it factory equipment of modified ????

No it is not possible to put EA81 heads on a EA71 block. The pistons are set further apart in the EA81 engine block.

The EA81 heads you are referring to sound like the turbo heads. They were factory but only on the EA81T.

Yeah progress has been pretty slow on this one - life gets in the way.

My valve stem seals are really bad now, I leave a cloud of smoke at the bottom of every hill. That gives me some motivation to get in with it.

I'm angling the carbs backwards so I won't have to relocate the battery. Should look and sound pretty cool and hopefully have a bit more get up and go too.
