Anyone know where I can find parts to rebuild my alternator, for a 96 Legacy L?

I was quoted $160 for a rebuilt from carquest.

 

Maybe you can find a rebuilt kit of some sort, but it's doubtful.

I bought a rebuilt unit from the local parts store for $120.00

I use www.mralternator.com. He really rebuilds them, not patchwork! Tell him " the Mailman" sent you!

You might try www.1stsubaruparts.com. I think they have Subaru rebuilt alternators for the legacy for less than $100.

Try an alt rebuilding place, maybe they will accept to sell you just the parts.

shoptech@pnhautoelectric.com. It would help if you get the part # off of the alternator but I can also look it up by application. Keith

If you just need bearings and brushes any electrical motor shop should be able to help.

You can find the brushes, bearings, and other components of your starter at 1stsubaruparts.com.

We tried to get the parts to rebuilt alternators, we found that it was cheaper to buy them rebuilt.
