December 25, 200421 yr did you guys ever get that thing running? if I am remembering right the last problem it had was the hyd clutch, right?
December 25, 200421 yr Nope. and not the clutch. If I had it my way, we'd take it to a crowded area and let folks hit it with a sledge hammer for 10 bucks a blow. lol
December 25, 200421 yr I like to break stuff, but $10 a blow to beat up a car that is kinda rare..... that's not for me
December 25, 200421 yr Nope. and not the clutch. If I had it my way, we'd take it to a crowded area and let folks hit it with a sledge hammer for 10 bucks a blow. lol Give me the car. I fix.
December 25, 200421 yr Author so wait.........WAIT a sec here. first off ITS MINE and what the hell, zap bought it?
December 25, 200421 yr I dont think Zap bought it. But since its been such a secret since its been sold, it wouldnt suprise me if he was the owner. Corky never got it running? Thought it was drivable before it was sold. -Brian
December 25, 200421 yr For all we know, the "new" owner could have promptly wrapped the beast around a tree driving it home from Corky's.
December 25, 200421 yr Author so it was running when corky sold it I thought corky was having problems with the EMS and the new owner got those worked out but was having problems with the clutch.
December 25, 200421 yr Nobody knows what happend... except for Corky and the new owner himself. -Brian
December 25, 200421 yr So, if the new owner and I are the only one's who know, then maybe you all should let us tell it, and since the new owner still wishes to remain anonimous, I guess that leaves me. UltimateRX has yet to move under it's own power. We have had the engine running several times, but it has never run quite right, our latest speculation is the fuel pump. When I did the WRX conversion on my Impreza, it had the EJ18 fuel pump in it, and it just didn't run right, after I put a performance upgrade WRX fuel pump in, it run great. Since Ultimate is using an EA82T fuel pump, that could be the problem. As for the clutch, it is still a problem, but now I know how to bleed them properly, so one of these days, we'll get that done. Right now UltimateRX is in storage, but I have told the owner that when I get my garage finished, I'd like to bring it back here so that I can finish what I started. That will probably happen in the Spring. With a little luck, UltimateRX might be ready for the next WCSS, but no promises. Well that brings everyone up to date.
December 25, 200421 yr Once it is running, I'll be sure and dirve it and let you all know just how ultimate it is.
December 25, 200421 yr Once it is running, I'll be sure and dirve it and let you all know just how ultimate it is. Good thing we've got Zap here willing to take one for the team and give us the scoop
December 25, 200421 yr Author I thought about emailing or PMing you corky, but I wanted to see if I could flush the new owner out. is he atleast on the board? I hope so. anyways thinks for the update. I hope to hear about it running and driving soon.
December 25, 200421 yr Once it is running, I'll be sure and dirve it and let you all know just how ultimate it is. I can just about guarantee that I will drive it before you do Zap. There will be a full report here on the board after the first shake down drive. JWX, when I promise to keep a secret, I keep it, no hints.
December 26, 200421 yr I can just about guarantee that I will drive it before you do Zap. That's Ok, we'll need a second opinion, or even a third. hehe SecretMobiles. mmmmm. . .
December 26, 200421 yr JWX, when I promise to keep a secret, I keep it, no hints. He's on the board. *Clap, Clap, Clap* Now to figure out who they are.
December 26, 200421 yr He's on the board. *Clap, Clap, Clap* Now to figure out who they are. So, if you guess the name, will you disappear like in the Superman comics???
December 27, 200421 yr (looks around innocently) you know about that old military saying, "Loose lips sink ships." Right???! wellll on that note... I'll just sitback(with regard to the ID of owner *AND* troubleshooting of UltimateRX) and take someone elses advice... "take care of my own backyard for starters." I think I've said it before but, it bare repeating for sincerity(sp) sake this project is just one of many; why I have an obsene amount of respect for the benefits this board has fostered over the years. (growing paine expected, learning curves anticipated, patience given routinely, and tough love expressed when necessary) oooops sorry... /tangent ends.
