I stopped at the WalMart in S Burlington, VT one morning after 6" of snow, and almost 1/3rd of the cars in the lot - 7 of 22 - were Subarus.

There are half a dozen nearby where I live in Boston, from other 97's to 2000-4 OBW's and one 95 Legacy wagon.

You can also check out the thread Craigslist "Subaru Quotient"

This led to a perusal of various Craigslist listings for different cities that you might expect to have a lot of them. One thing that can't be accounted for, of course, is the relative awareness or popularity of Craigslist. For example, in Vermont there are tons of Subarus, but the list is nw and not well known. In San Fransisco, there are quite a few Subarus for sale, but a huge # of listings. And you can't get a total # of cars for sale - just the total # of For Sale items.

That said, the top three (everything else was well behind, that I checked) were:

1. Denver - 217 of 43,853 - 0.4948%

2. Portland OR - 278 of 78,140 - 0.3559%

3. Boston - 96 of 34,397 - 0.2790%

We dont have blocks or sidewalks out here so its hard to keep track. But I park my Impreza up on the hill next to my wifes Outback so thats 2 Subarus. My son and I have more fun at Wal*Mart counting how many toothless women come out the store. Try that for fun.

Prolly easier just to count the total number of teeth.

there are 2 that i know of, my outback and a forester 2 doors down.

but there are only 7 houses on the block!

as i drove around yesterday (my first full day of soobie ownership) i seemed to notice an outback or a forester every time i turned around.

Maybe I have too much time on my hands but...

Have you noticed how many Subaru's are on your block?

I was kinda supprised when I actually counted them up.

I found 8 just on my block on my street.

3 Foresters

4 Outbacks

(and 1 highly modifed 82 GL)

So...

How many on your block?

Glenn

82 SubaruHummer

01 Forester
