September 21, 200520 yr Chef Tim found some. He used them on EA81 but im positive EA82 hubs are the same. -Brian
September 21, 200520 yr Napa and custom wheel shops have lots of them if youre willing to change hole diameter or thread type.
September 21, 200520 yr Go to the parts store and see what they can come up with that will fit into the hubs? There surely is some vehicle with studs that are similar but longer.
September 21, 200520 yr Author Napa and custom wheel shops have lots of them if youre willing to change hole diameter or thread type. No need. We have found 60MM studs...that are COMMON....as common as....as any other SUBARU and Nissan out there. reason i ask before i post answer...to see if anyone has done the proper research. Think...these 'old cars' are not so 'old'...........
September 22, 200520 yr Yeah I'd like to know what the studs are for. I'm going to need longer studs so I can have an offset plate made for the hubs. I wanna go 1/2" offset to make sure my tires dont rub with the lift
September 22, 200520 yr Author Im only going to give one hint...as its classified and *I* dont have the say so to release the info.... They are COMMON and READILY AVALIBLE.
September 22, 200520 yr Hmmm, then I suppose one of us with some free time needs to go to the junkyard with a Subaru lugnut and stud in hand and start checkingJapanese cars, starting with Subaru, then Nissan, and on out from there.
September 22, 200520 yr only subaru and nissan use the M12x1.25 thread, that I have found atleast. if you search it will come to you (google be your friends)
September 22, 200520 yr http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=31721&highlight=stud Oh Yeah, I have them on an EA 81 and 82 car. Tim
September 22, 200520 yr Thanks Tim. After I do my engine swap I will be getting these studs and nuts and running the pugs
September 22, 200520 yr Author http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=31721&highlight=stud Oh Yeah, I have them on an EA 81 and 82 car. Tim Nope...the ones we have do not require special-ness....such as a 'press' :-p
September 22, 200520 yr Author I would...but....things like this get posted on her and answered and then a week later some one posts the Q again and no one has a clue. Plus its up to the discover'r to reveal the info...not I.
September 23, 200520 yr M12x1.25 for Nissan, Subaru, and Suzuki McGard lockable wheel nuts - 24154SU Locking wheel nut set by McGard. Suitable for Nissan, Datsun, Subaru, Suzuki. ray's engineering lug nuts M12x1.25 for "most japanese cars" (other than the big H) http://www.rxecret7.com/raenlugnu.html Looks like all Nissans share it? JWX was right, it was a dead simple google
September 23, 200520 yr Author There is one more...and its also a big brand name....but its a 'nissan brand' and 'jdm'
July 23, 201015 yr Bumping this to try and get some expert advise from the 80's folks... I need longer studs for my front FF-1 hubs. The stud turns out to be the SAME as the 80's studs, here is a pic: The length of the Impreza studs would actually work OK, I only need 1-1.5cm longer studs to work with my spacers. However I know about the NISMO studs (which are 50mm or 60mm) and ARP studs, but all of those appear to be geared for Impreza/Legacy style studs. Has anyone used Impreza style studs on their 80's Brats/Loyales/etc. even though their stock stud looks like my FF-1 stud?
July 24, 201015 yr I did and the acorn lug nut ended up having a hole thru the end but otherwise it worked ok. This was with a stock alloy wheel 13" thru a brake drum on the rear of my 84 Brat. Still a little peeved at WJM for this thread. I see his point but honestly a factory Subaru part works fine if you need longer studs. I have a feeling a stamped steel wheel might not fair as well as it would sit further down on the stud.
July 24, 201015 yr I did and the acorn lug nut ended up having a hole thru the end but otherwise it worked ok. What do you mean? You mean the open-ended lugnuts?
