WRX I/C in 87 Turbowagon

Featured Replies

Well, I bid on a WRX I/C on Ebay, hopefulyl I get it. Does anyone want to offer me some help on how to pipe it in and stuff?? It should be fairly simple, but I know there are people on here who have done it before (Skip?) Dangit where is Sean when I need him :-P

Hondasucks...because of my spider intake...I will be remaking my bracket. I will sell you my bracket...and all my premade hose stuff if you'd like. Pretty simple install.

Sorry for the size of the pic :-/

Andrew, what's your ebay name? I can tell by the picture of Tex's car, I'll need one too, looks like there are plenty to go around but I don't want to step on your bid.

looks like same mod I will have to do when I get my turbo motor

Calebz, thats the stock WRX BOV and it looks like its Vented into the Intake, im pretty sure of this but i could be wrong.

my Ebay name is bigbadsubaru. Tex, what do ya want for the bracket and stuff?? $25 bucks?

I was thinking $40.... It cost me $30, just to have my buddy weld that up. But if that doesn't work, lets talk.

well I didn't ge the I/C, but I am still interested in your bracket. $40 sounds good enough for me, I'll let you know when I get the $$$ if ya hang on to it for me...

No problem. I'm still using it...will be a week or two before I get my new one made. Drop me an pm or email and we can talk. I might have a line on another intercooler (WRX of course).

does the I/C fit under the hood ok or do you need to modify the hood any more, other than fitting a scoupe of course? to me it looks like it fits perfectly under the hood. nice job.

Subarutex:

Where did you get the MAF adapter for your intake?

Arg! I want the piping! lol..... I'm getting ready to purchase an intercooler, and I was looking at your pics. Any kind of parts list for that stuff? :D Hondasucks: let me buy it and I'll replicate. :D I may know where another cheap intercooler is as well.

btw: Hondasucks: are you or were you registered on rs25.com? Just remember seeing that name there.

Steven

i just bid on one with the BOV :D and i dont' even have my car running again yet .. i'm a sick sick man..

The PVC part is a great idea, but where did you get the metal peice that comes off the turbo and where did you get the peices of rubber hose that connect the pvc pipes? ive tried finding this stuff but im not havin any luck

thanks

The intercooler fits no problem under a stock hood. With the BOV, i have about an inch of space left above it.

All the piping was gotten from home depot and schucks. From the turbo to the intercooler, i have a piece of radiator hose going to a copper pipe reducer, with another radiator hose going from that to the intercooler.

From the intercooler to the intake, its all ABS plastic piping. The rubber things i found on the same aisle. Word of caution. Don't use the cheaper thinner light gray rubber things. They don't stand up to the heat or pressure.

The MAF adapter for my intake was already on the car when i bought it from MikeW. I should post some updated pics of the engine compartment....

so what are we talkin here, bracket piping and intercooler :-) I'd really liek one with the BOV cuz I dont' want to go spend a bunch of money on an aftermarket BOV, the stock WRX one is noisy enough for me :-)
