October 17, 200322 yr They are available through Tire Rack. Here are the specs. They are available in 165/80QR13 for $62 and 195/70QR13 for $72.
October 17, 200322 yr That looks like a gravel spec tire! That's proly the reason for the $$$ I havent run THAT tire before, but I have run the Kuhmos before. They are a good tire for the money, they are no BFGoodrich, but a good tire none the less. That tire looks kick rump roast for Subaru, and it's a 13" no less!!!!
October 17, 200322 yr For a rally grade tire, i think thats fairly cheap. Ive had my eyes on those tires for a long time, looks like the best off-road traction for any 13" rim. -Brian
October 18, 200322 yr I'd say go for 'em! I looked at those, but my budget wouldn't allow it. Got these instead....$33 a tire: http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires/firestone/fs_winterforce_ci2_l.jpg For the price, I am very happy with them, but my next tire purchase will definately be those Kumhos.
October 18, 200322 yr the discontinued them ... oh well... the Kuhmo 762's are close enough like them and the Perelli's P4000 are like the other set i got.
October 18, 200322 yr i heard through the grape vine that these tires are soft and will wear out faster than other rally tires on the market.
October 18, 200322 yr 72.00 dollars for a 13" tire? Really? Does that include shipping and a massage? LMAO!
October 18, 200322 yr Author Originally posted by carfreak85 i heard through the grape vine that these tires are soft and will wear out faster than other rally tires on the market. The Kumho site says they make this tire in a hard compound and a soft compound. I don't know which version Tirerack sells, or if you can specify.
October 21, 200322 yr Author Thanks--I e-mailed Eric because he runs the wheel and tire forum at http://www.vwvortex.com. He said they stock the harder compound, but will order the soft one for you if you want it. I suspect anyone on this board who wants these tires would want the longer-lasting hard compound.
October 22, 200322 yr Checked out the site, it's listed as a performance rally tire. That's a good price for a rally tire, most are over a $100 each. Probably wouldn't be good for somebody wanting a snow tire that they would run for 3 to 6 months on pavement, probably wouldn't wear well.
October 22, 200322 yr Author I'm looking for a nice ea81 4WD dual-range wagon to drive to trailheads, explore off pavement, and to drive when one of our other vehicles is in for service or for the occasional dump or home-and-garden store run. I'm probably looking at two or three thousand miles a year, tops. A decent set of 13" snow tires would probably work fine for me. On the other hand I can afford these, they would be nice to have while tearing up gravel roads, and the tread life would not be a big issue for me because it would take me a long time for me to put even 20,000 miles on the car.
October 22, 200322 yr If that's the case, get them. They look like a good deal for what your getting, that is, if you want something more than a regular snow tire. I'm going to get something for my rally cross car and those may be perfect. I think Edrach has experience with this brand.
