July 31, 200619 yr I bought this on Craigslist. It's an 87 wagon all hacked up and lifted with 28" TSL Super Swampers.
July 31, 200619 yr That's a cool fab job. Can you tell how rigid the rear is? It looks like it is somewhat reinforced. Do you have any plans to modify this truck?
July 31, 200619 yr That is absolute, unquestionable HOTNESS!!! What are the specs: mileage, structural, $... C'mon now... tell the USMB crew! Cheers, #89 1989 Subaru JUSTY RS 4WD 119,111 miles
July 31, 200619 yr man, you'll have to watch out that Subaru don't take you to court for making an exact replica of the Baja! copywrite laws and all that.. hehehehe
August 1, 200619 yr Very neat, can't wait to see it a WCSS8. One word for you, Restroleum, ok maybe two, CAMO
August 1, 200619 yr i always looked at my loyale and said "if i took this.....and cut here.." but i never had the cohones to do it, looks great! i did the same thing with a 88 chevy nova...because it was a car and a truck...we called it the el caNOVA...el camino + nova = el caNOVA, i wish i could weld...
August 1, 200619 yr I think a nice Rattle Can "DESERT CAMO" job would look good on that bad boy.............spark
August 1, 200619 yr i figured out from the subject what this was gonna be.. and thought it was gonna be bad.. but i thought i meant literally. that thing looks mind boggling, and i bet it wasnt even a subaru nut who did it, it was probly just some metal guy with a subaru, wasnt it? somehow it does scream desert camo.. and i HATE camo..
August 1, 200619 yr it's cool in an i have no money kinda way that thing is awsome i second the camo:headbang:
August 1, 200619 yr I am impressed on how he secured the roof rack to the car.... bolts... we don't need no STINK'N BOLTS....
August 1, 200619 yr that's cool... but I found this in an ollllld thread.. Doesn't look like it has any reinforcing on the rear... Looks like it would flex too much.. Personally, I'm not keen on the 85 to 89s... I like MY's, and old gen brats! hehe.
August 1, 200619 yr I don't know, that canvas top's got me thinking... and an 80's 4-runner cabin rollbar is almost perfect for those wagons
August 1, 200619 yr Author It's got 226,000 miles, but according to receipts, the engine has been rebuilt twice. It has fuel injection from a 93 Loyale. Hmmm, maybe desert camo, but right now I'm leaning more towards dark gray primer. I haven't taken it offroad yet, as the front axles need to be replaced. It will defintely be ready for WCSS 8!
August 1, 200619 yr baccaruda and i have talked about this many times.i truly believe that a removable hard top would be killer on something like that.with a lift gate on pins to make it a two piece removable hard top.
