December 10, 200718 yr Author Hey guys. Small update. I have nearly finished! got some new rubber to bring the offset in a bit, now im running some MT Baja claws. IMO looks good. Car drives really well. Has alot more go than my gtb for some reason. Had a few issues due to my incompetence. took it for a drive without tightening the powersteering lines and trans cooler lines. VERY messy. POP. ill leave the rest to your imagination.. i have fixed that now and sall good. Rubber just rubs on front a 3/4 lock. Bit more grinder work and shell be apples. I'd like to say thanks to johhny for coming up and helping out. Couldnt have done it without you. Id also like to thank everyone else who has helped me out over the past couple of months. Here are some pics of it crawling around the street. Do enjoy Overall im very happy with how it has turned out.
December 12, 200718 yr That is one sweet looking driveway with that collection of vehicles! Yes very nice collection! That brumby looks very nice also! That wagon looks like you could really climb some massive sand hills with that powerfull ejtt motor in there!
December 13, 200718 yr WOW, IM VERY IMPRESSED, what a great thread, truely a "how to" guide, and a wealth of information. Question: (1)How much did you trim on your wheel wells? (2)did you use the new dash/and components? Thanks.
December 14, 200718 yr Car looks great,i would love to see it in the flesh. For those of you who are interested, Crossbred Performance is in fact up and running again. I purchased the business a little while ago and am in the process of restocking, I posted a thread here if anyone wants to get in contact.
December 17, 200718 yr so why does the track have to be so wide?now its like a truck and will not fit on ATV trails.or do you have atv trails there or is it wide open sand dunes?
December 21, 200718 yr Thats gotta be one of the biggest Subies in Australia. What size are the tyres?
December 22, 200718 yr Author hehe. Merry Christmas buddy. well overdue for a meet up. Tyres are 31x10.5r15
December 30, 200718 yr I have a sneaking suspcision I have seen this thing. I'm originally from Devonport.
December 31, 200718 yr Author Hey mate. Wouldnt have been me you saw. I havent taken this car to dev as of yet. Not since ive rebuilt it anyways:)
December 31, 200718 yr i was in Tasmania about 6 weeks ago and we swung thruogh Burnie for a couple of days before returning to the US. I saw a white Leone with a could sounding note to it and it looked like it was riding on 31s thats why I presumed it was you when I saw it. Who knows eh?
March 29, 200818 yr Author Ok here is another small update. Still have a little to do. I fitted some flares a month or so ago. I used conveyor belt and some 2mm steel. I welded the steel to the body and then bolted the rubber to the steel. Still have to mount scoop and do some reinforcements of the castor lift. I also got a straight through exhaust fitted, but I'm not happy with the location so im going to get it re routed sometime soon. Note: I'm not going to keep the current breathing setup, going to go to a dual snorkel setup. Enjoy
April 1, 200817 yr wow dude! you are my hero. I've always thought about doing this, but since its so hard to get a front clip of a TT EJ engine, I've never gone through with it. Please let us know how it goes in the mud and offroad. Looks like its going to be a blast to drive! Great work
April 1, 200817 yr May I suggest you cut the flair ends on an angle, like round them off, or even something like a straight 60degree angle? Looks huge
April 2, 200817 yr Author cheers guys phin- yeah i havent finished with the guards yet. just whacked them on. will sprouse it up sometime:P
